RENTANGLE
from Roger E. · host Roger E.
Throughout the decades of my musical journey, I have made it a point to record as much as possible. My process in doing so has always been to simply use whatever tools I have to capture or create whatever I want, limited only by the quality of the tools available and my imagination. The result is that I have a lifetime of recordings across numerous genres and styles. Here's some music that follows those loose directions... I've been waiting for the perfect moment to share Wintering with you, and this snowy January day in New England seems to be the one. The overall mood here is quiet and contemplative, and the sounds are organic and woody. The simple acoustic guitar improvisation of Beret sets the tone, the title referring to the kind of hat I wear all Winter long. Rentangle is a neo-traditional blend of rhythms and textures reflecting my lifelong passion for the music of John Renbourn and The Pentangle. Finally, See your Breath is anchored by the sound of acoustic guitar, with the melodic figure played on my favorite new wind instrument, the Low G Celtic whistle.
