  8. DAYDREAMER (LIVE AT THE SCREENING ROOM, 1983)

For this first day of Spring 2026, I offer a song which was recorded on this day exactly 43 years ago. On March 20th, 1983, I did a concert at the Screening Room in Newburyport, MA to showcase my new and recently composed original music. Joining me were John Hyde on keyboards, Jon Ross on…

  9. MARCH WALTZ

As most of my listeners know, the art of creating and recording original music is for me a constant process. The process itself is different every time I do it...sometimes starting with a chord progression, sometimes a melody line or phrase, sometimes a rhythmic figure, and if I'm very lucky...

  10. SEE YOUR BREATH

Throughout the decades of my musical journey, I have made it a point to record as much as possible. My process in doing so has always been to simply use whatever tools I have to capture or create whatever I want, limited only by the quality of the tools available and my imagination. The result is...

Slow Motion Summer is a snapshot of midsummer, when the tempo of life seems to slow down like an oil painting. Before the rush of Autumn, the mood is languid and lush, which is exactly what these musical sketches are about. "Samba So Slow" is pretty much what the title says...a very slow Samba...

  16. SUMMERTIME MONTUNO

Here's a little something to kick off Summer on a bright note...pretty sure you all know this one! Threw it together in the studio in about an hour, with one take on the flute, so it's not perfect but definitely fun. Here's to Summer, people!😎

  17. DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?

I've always loved Christmas music, especially the classics and the ancient noels. This one combines the two in a way that feels both ancient and modern. I do hope you hear what I hear! Very Christmas & Really New Year to All... Roger E.

  18. BEFORE

I've been in the music biz for so long by now that sometimes I'm astonished to remember all the changes that have happpened along the way. For about 20 years, long before I started on a serious path as a multi-instrumentalist/composer/recording artist, I was working constantly as a lead singer,...

  22. WHY CAN'T WE LIVE TOGETHER

This is my cover of the 1973 classic pop-soul hit by Timmy Thomas. It's been "in the can" since 2010, but sitting dormant until now. With the current breaking point state of socio-political affairs in the world of 2016, it feels like the right time to get this message out...

Here are three of my favorite jazz covers for flute. I don't often record non-original material, but these are pieces I have known and loved for years.
