REPLAY: GHS Silver Streaks boys basketball team advances to Regional Semifinals with win over Geneseo

Monday night at John Thiel Gym in the Regional Quarterfinal game, the Galesburg High School boys basketball team got their third win of the year over the Geneseo Maple Leafs, 65 - 45. It was the third straight year that Galesburg has won against Geneseo in the opening Regional game and the 17th consecutive victory over Geneseo going back to the 2016-17 season. The Silver Streaks advance to the Regional Semifinal game versus the Morton Potters at Dunlap Wednesday (2/26) night. Galesburg shot 25 of 48 from the field, 4 of 13 from beyond the arc, and 11 of 14 from the free throw line. The team had 36 rebounds, 12 assists, and 11 turnovers in the game. The Streaks had four players in double figures, led by Keigen Crummer and Cesaire Bile who each scored 14 points, Jaxon Wyatt with 12 points, Jackson Crock Sibbing finshed with 11 points off the bench, Leslie Kelley scored 8 points, and Rahkim McCellan finished with 4 points. Geneseo went on a run in the 3rd quarter and knocked down Galesburg's lead to just 4 points. That's when freshman Cesaire Bile stepped up and drained a 3-pointer from the corner. Geneseo did not score for the final four minutes of that quarter and the the Streaks went on a 27-11 run that clinched the victory. With that pivotal 3-pointer, Cesaire Bile was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. He finished the night with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal.   Coach Thompson brought along Demetrius Watson to the postgame interview.
