from GHS Sports Audio · host WGIL 93.7 FM - 1400 AM

Friday night at John Thiel Gym, the Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team battled strong against Danville at the start of the game. There were seven lead changes and five ties in the 1st half, but to start the second half, the Vikings opened it up by doubling their first half output with 23 points in the 3rd quarter, on their way to a 65 - 52 win over the Silver Streaks. The Streaks are now 5 - 12 on the season while Danville improves to 6 - 8. The Streaks finished 19 of 48 from the field, 4 of 16 from the three-point line, and 11 of 20 from the free throw line. They out rebounded Danville with 34 along with 9 assists, but once again turnovers plagued the Streaks as they gave up the ball 17 times in the game. For Galesburg, Jackson Wyatt led the way with 16 points, Jackson Crock Sibbing finished with 12, and Leslie Kelly scored 10. Ethan Oxley and Demtrius Watson tied for the most rebounds for the Streaks with 9 each. For his efforts in the fourth quarter leading a comeback effort, Leslie Kelly was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. Leslie scored 7 of his 10 points in the 4th quarter and contributed 4 assists, 4 rebounds, and a couple of steals in the game. He never quit and showed his toughness to the very end.
