REPLAY: GHS Silver Streaks boys basketball vs Pekin

The Galesburg High School boys basketball team finished off a successful three-game homestand with a 63 - 42 victory over the visiting Pekin Dragons. The Silver Streaks out-scored the Dragons 14 - 0 to finish off the first half. They opened up a four-point lead to an eighteen-point lead by halftime and were never threatened the rest of the way. Jaxon Wyatt was the offensive catalyst in the 2nd quarter when he put up 10 of his 16 points, and for that, he was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. Jaxon was also the leading rebounder for Galesburg with seven. To start the 2nd half, Keigan Crummer scored 11 points in the 3rd quarter and he finished with a game-high 17 points for the Streaks. Once again, the Streaks shot better than 50% in the game with 28 out of 55 from the field, 4 of 8 from the free-throw line, but just 3 out of 15 from three-point range. Overall the offense didn't look quite as crisp, but it was really the defense that got the job done. Next up for the Silver Streaks, they take to the road for the first time this season for their Western Big 6 Conference opener against Rock Island Alleman.
