REPLAY: GHS Silver Streaks girls basketball vs Springfield | Thanksgiving Tournament

In their second game of the day on Saturday at the Thanksgiving Tournament at John Thiel Gym, the Silver Streaks girls basketball team extended their undefeated start to the season to 4 games with a win over the Springfield Senators, 78 - 56. A true team effort in the scoring for the Streaks with 10 players scoring in the game.  Zaniyah Carter led the way with 18 points, both Taylor Herchenroder and Jozalyn Kilgore each scored 12, 10 points from Grace Herchenroder, and Lily Furrow finished with 8 points. Overall the team was 34 of 64 from the field, 7 of 15 from the 3-point line, and 3 of 6 from the charity stripe. Galesburg had 28 rebounds, 21 team assists, and only 10 turnovers. The Streaks defense forced 18 turnovers by Springfield. With the balanced output by the team, it was a tough choice, but Zaniyah Carter was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. She finished with 18 points and a couple of rebounds, assists, and steals. The Silver Streaks begin Western Big 6 Conference play Tuesday night when they take on the Alleman Pioneers.
