Born to a Jamaican father and Ghanaian mother, the 18-year-old is heavily influenced by the sounds from both countries. This is reflected in his flow and style. He was discovered and signed to Wonder 4 Music when his feature on the “Come Home to Africa Riddim” caught the attention of the label.Donskii outlines his musical journey as follows: “I started music when I was very little at the age of 11, growing up with instruments playing in my head and always writing down lyrics, rhymes and finding the right melodies to go with it. The ghetto and the street life always had an influence in my songs because I was that street boy who was always on the street and in the ghettos.” He is currently in his final year at Akro Senior High School in Somanya, where he has lived most of his life. The self-confessed Mama’s boy says he is very close to his mother as his father is usually on the road working.Donskii has always been motivated to do music professionally, because he feels that a lot of people living in the inner-cities are not given the opportunity to express their views on key issues, and he would like to be a voice for them.
