REPRISE: Doug Pagitt: The Emerging Face of Christianity

from The Cosmic Citizen · host Paula Thompson

This episode is a REPRISE of an earlier broadcast of the Cosmic Citizen on September 18, 2010.  Our hosts are enjoying some vacation and hope to be back with you for some exciting new interviews and studies of the papers in two or three weeks.  Please do not call in.  The electrons are dancing but not answering.  :-) Doug Paggit was our guest speaker to discuss his then new book, Church in the Inventive Age. Doug is a widely respected leader in the Emergent Christian movement as the founder of Solomon's Porch, a "Holistic Missional Christian Community" in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he has received a wide array of media coverage. As one of the founders of The Emergent Village, a growing, generative friendship among missional Christians seeking to love our world in the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Rev. Paggit has also be a co-founder of JoPa Productions, where he and Tony Jones have produced several emergent conferences, Christianity21, Big Tent Christianity, as well as other workshops and seminars, including their popular program: Social Media Bootcamp for Pastors and Ministry Leaders, a one-day workshop that covers ministry uses of blogging, Facebook, and Twitter. Doug sometimes refers to himself as a "Social and Theological Entrepreneur" since he runs several businesses, a non-profit organization, as well as his prolific writing, speaking, and radio hosting career.  We think it is not an inappropriate title.
