Rescuing our Hidden Selves with Camille Elizabeth

from Earth School with Z

I am so very grateful for this meaningful and unprepared conversation with Camille and for her willingness to just jump into the river with be and see where it took us.  We both agreed at the end that this richness of being able to connect in real time with all our questions and curiosities and quirky and messy questions about the meaning of life is something we've both dreamed of and yearned for, so a big thank you to the Universe for bringing us together for this dream come true moment in time.  So glad you are here with us too, xo, z You can find Camille at: highlyspiritualperson.com and on IG and TikTok @highlyspiritualperson Camille is a Highly Sensitive Person who was taught by society to be ashamed of her sensitivity and for a long time pretended to be someone she was not. This led me down many dark paths that ultimately resulted in chronic depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and addiction.  Through all of that darkness, she always had this yearning to better understand the mysteries of life and the Universe. She started exploring different religions at 18 and has spent a considerable amount of time in Buddhism, various Christian denominations (Lutheran, Quaker, Episcopal, Catholic, Presbyterian, United Church of Christ), Unitarian Universalism, and Paganism. She even planned to go to seminary to become a Progressive Christian minister. (she changed her mind on that one.) She no longer practices any of these religions, but appreciates what each one taught her.  As a very spiritual person, Camille believes that there is more to reality than meets the eye. She believes in “God” in that she believes everyone and everything in the Universe is “God”. Camille believes science and spirituality can and should coexist peacefully, that we are all one – not just in the trite “kumbaya” sense, but that we are literally all connected and the world would be a better place if we remembered that more often.  She shares spiritual tools, meditations, perspectives and learning on her site: highlyspiritualperson.com, a space for other sensitive people (Highly Sensitive Person, empath, overexcitable or simply “sensitive”) who are as passionate and curious about spirituality as she is.  You can find her there or on IG and TikTok @highlyspiritualperson.  You can find me at www.anexperiencer.com.  Love you, xo, z
