Resistance Christmas
from Resistor Vic Podcast · host Resistor Vic
Every year, there’s a story people like to tell about soldiers laying down their weapons on Christmas Eve. The most famous version didn’t happen in World War II, but during World War I in 1914, when exhausted soldiers along the Western Front stopped fighting for a night. There was also a smaller, lesser-known moment during World War II in 1944, in the middle of the Battle of the Bulge. This is a reflective look at two real Christmas Eve stories, and why they’ve stayed with us. This is a public episode.
