Resistance Plea 4.16.26

from Resistor Vic Podcast · host Resistor Vic

I was eight years old, and I don’t remember every detail, but I remember the feeling. The country came together. Not perfectly, not without problems, but there was a sense that we were part of something shared. That’s what stuck with me.And it’s what feels missing right now. After I finished recording the video, something hit me.This idea is bigger than a video. It’s not enough for one person to talk about conserving water. It’s not enough for people to make small changes at home, even though those things matter. What’s missing is leadership. We’re already seeing restrictions in places like Colorado. We’re already seeing warning signs in the snowpack. And yet, the response still feels scattered. Individual. Optional. That’s not how you get through something like this.If we’re heading into the kind of drought conditions this year is pointing toward, then we don’t need suggestions. We need direction. We need coordination. We need leaders who are willing to stand up and say, clearly and directly, “This is what we have to do, and this is why.”That’s not happening. And it should be.This shouldn’t be coming from some guy standing out on the prairie making a video. It should be coming from people with the authority to bring communities together and set expectations before things get worse. So I’m going to take that step myself.I plan to bring this idea to my local city council. Not because I think I have all the answers, but because I think someone needs to start the conversation in a way that matches the scale of the problem. And if I’m thinking about doing that, I have to assume I’m not the only one.If this resonates with you, don’t just watch the video and move on.Think about where you live. Think about who makes decisions in your community. Think about what it would look like for people there to actually lead on something like this.Because if this really is one of those moments where we need to come together, it’s not going to happen on its own. It’s going to take people deciding that it matters enough to act. Please share this one.
