Restoration over Retaliation ///Summer on the Mount Pt.4

Jesus teaches that fulfilling God's law goes beyond following rules and should transform how we live and treat others in everyday life. Matthew 5:33-37 challenges us to choose truth over comfort by being people whose "yes" and "no" can be trusted. We are also called to choose restoration over retaliation, breaking the cycle of revenge and pursuing peace when we are wronged. Jesus takes this even further by commanding us to choose love over hate, loving and praying for our enemies rather than responding with hostility. Ultimately, believers are called to live a counter-cultural life marked by truth, peace, love, and hospitality that reflects the character of God and welcomes others into His Kingdom.
