Return to the Ancient Paths

In 627 BC, God sent the prophet Jeremiah to warn the nation of Judah of God's coming judgment.  The people had left the ancient paths.  God had given them the book of the Law and revealed Himself as their Lawgiver, Protector and Provider.  He was the God who loved them and had their best interests at heart.  However, the people fell into great apostasy and began serving false gods.  Jeremiah 6:16 says, "...Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.  But you said, 'We will not walk in it.'"
