Reverse Mentorship

from Boomer Banter, Real Talk about Aging Well

In this episode, we learn from Laura O'Connell about mentoring international students and learning from them as well.  Living in the duality of being the teacher and the student. As Boomers, we have experience in work, life and finance that we like to pass on to younger employees or family in a mentoring capacity. Many retired professionals volunteer their time in organizations like SCORE or the Small Business Administration. But there is another side to this story. That is what we can learn from the younger generations. Many of them are very technologically savvy and are more than willing to share their expertise with us. They look at life with a different filter, a different lens, and if we listen, our perspective can be broadened.Laura O'Connell is a Global HR Professional, who started her own business in 2015. She has been working to support international students and learning from them as well.  She also works with small businesses to break down the barriers of ageism and help them build dynamic organizations.--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/wendy-green9/support
