Rex Heuermann Guilty Plea — Seven Murders, Failed Motions, No Trial

Rex Heuermann entered guilty pleas to three counts of first-degree murder and four counts of intentional murder in Suffolk County Court. Whole genome sequencing matched Heuermann's DNA to hairs found on and near multiple victims, marking the first admission of this technology in a New York courtroom. The originating DNA sample came from a pizza crust collected during physical surveillance.
