She didn't say it with sarcasm. She didn't say it with rage. She said it like someone trying to hold two truths that shouldn't be able to exist inside the same person — because for Victoria, they have to. The Rex she knew coached her through life. Took care of the family. Was the person she called when she needed something. That Rex was real to her.
