Deze week debatteerde de Tweede Kamer over oplossingen voor de energiecrisis die is ontstaan door de oorlog met Iran. In dat debat werd ook de link gelegd met de oliecrisis in de jaren ’70 en er werd door de SGP zelfs geopperd opnieuw autoloze zondagen in te voeren. Dat voorstel werd niet erg serieus genomen of zelfs als schrikbeeld afgeschilderd. Maar hoe ging dat in 1973 toen autoloze zondagen wel werden ingevoerd? Hoe reageerden de Nederlanders? En was het achteraf eigenlijk wel nodig? Michal Citroen maakte in 2013 een tweedelige documentaire waarin ze onder andere sprak met Ruud Lubbers, in 1973 minister van Economische Zaken. Programmamaker Katinka Baehr maakte deze hermontage.
