Where were you when you first saw Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio lock eyeballs through the fish tank in Romeo + Juliet? Baz Luhrmann's 1996 adaptation of the Shakespearean teenage tragedy is a hyper-stylized fever dream that we're STILL obsessing over 25 years later. Costume designer Kym Barrett (The Matrix trilogy, Us, Aquaman) put Danes in those iconic angel wings while dressing the rival Montague and Capulet boy-gangs in a perfect contradiction of Hawaiian shirts and D&G.
