Since 2008, Roscommon have been hosting students from Wageningen University in the Netherlands for 2 weeks in the month of June. They are studying ‘International Community Development’, like the ‘Community & Rural Development’ work that the Roscommon LEADER Partnership engages in throughout the year. As part of their studies, the students undertake 2 weeks of field research work in the community they are temporarily living in. Adrianne is joined in studio by Anthony Dockery, SICAP Coordinator with Roscommon LEADER Partnership who runs this project and organises host families for these students in County Roscommon, she is also joined by three of these Dutch students to talk about the research they have been doing, Mart Marck who is spending his two weeks in the village of Loughglynn, and Hannah Vink and Loekla van Geleuken who are living with host families in Roscommon Town.
