Rowing With The Squad (feat. Jim Barr)

Welcome everyone to another episode of the For Stars Podcast, featuring Head Coach of Holy Cross Men's Rowing, Jim Barr, in his ninth year at the helm of the program. Hudson and Jim discuss the current climate of men's collegiate rowing, student-athlete development, power of team culture, recruiting the person as oppose to the fastest erg score, the facilities offered to the student-athletes, and pursuit of academics over athletics. Jim touches on the influence of Jim Harbaugh and a quote that keeps him going as a rowing coach, as well as answering Hudson's theory of college coaches in the East Coast aiming to recruit prep school kids as oppose to West Coast club athletes, along with other topics as well. 

Just shy of a few weeks away from the 2024 Eastern Sprints in Massachusetts which would qualify the team for the IRA National Championships, Barr elaborates more on what he is focusing on as a coach to well prepare the squad for the team's next race in Ithaca, New York, where the Crusaders will race Oregon State, Penn, and Cornell to win the "Madeira Cup".
