Rubber Wall
from Silvio Vinci Hosted by Silvio Vinci
RUBBER WALL (reworking of Muro di Gomma , original Track by Silvio Vinci) I knocked on your door till my knuckles turned red, I called out your name, but the silence spoke instead. Every word I throw at you comes rolling back to me, I’m talking to a shadow that don’t wanna hear or see. Rubber wall, throw my words right back at me. Rubber wall, ain’t no door and ain’t no key. I push, you move, then you roll right back again. Rubber wall, same old story, same old pain. I tried a little kindness, I tried a little rage, I wrote the whole damn story, you just tore another page. You got no yes, no maybe, not even one goodbye, just that cold elastic silence hanging heavy in your eyes. Rubber wall, throw my words right back at me. Rubber wall, ain’t no door and ain’t no key. I push, you move, then you roll right back again. Rubber wall… here we go again. [Bridge — half time] Maybe walls don’t hate you. Maybe walls don’t care. Maybe I’ve been wasting all my breath into the air. But tonight… I ain’t knocking anymore. Rubber wall, you can keep your little game. Rubber wall, I won’t call another name. Throw my words behind me, watch me turn and walk away. Rubber wall… I got nothing left to say. Rubber wall… Rubber wall…
