Brittany “Lenny” Gilbert is an author, business owner, and entrepreneur with mild cerebral palsy based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Gilbert’s paternal grandmother passed away from early-onset Alzheimer’s in 2014. To honor her grandmother’s memory, Gilbert launched multimedia company Fireball Unlimited on March 13, 2017, which would have been her grandmother’s 65th Birthday. Her business allows her to publish books and produce films.Two years later, she released a book entitled, RUDY & ME. This is a story about a 12-year-old girl whose grandmother has Alzheimer’s. The book was written as another way for Miss Gilbert to honor her grandmother and help young people understand this disease and how they can help their loved ones deal with it. After publishing her book, she wanted to venture into filmmaking. She furthered her career by turning her book into a short film she wrote and produced. As a writer, Miss Gilbert tries to tell stories that are relatable.
