The 4MIDABLE Writer
Don Young has been a storyteller for decades - but that was never the plan.As a teenager, his dream was to be a professional hockey player. When that dream ended, a chance meeting with an actor led to a visit to a film set, which sparked an interest in taking acting classes from Eli Rill, a former associate of Lee Strasberg at his renowned Actors' Studio. Don believed the training would improve his sales presentations in his day job - but after just three months, Eli told him, “You should get an agent.”That led to small roles in television and film and eventually sparked an interest in writing television scripts. Despite having no formal training, Don taught himself to write screenplays using his mother's typewriter. A year later, Eli was so impressed with Don's dual talent that he encouraged him to move to Los Angeles, where Eli was relocating to work with Mr. Strasberg at The Actors Studio.Don quit his job and moved to Los Angeles, where, with Eli's support, he was cast in a play produced by Mr. Strasberg. The experience led to meeting legendary actresses Anne Bancroft and Shelley Winters and opened the door to life inside the entertainment industry.Don was signed by a literary agent, and his first writing job was for the iconic cartoon series Inspector Gadget. This was before email and computers were part of the writing process - production offices dispatched a taxi with a three-page episode outline to his apartment, and returned five days later to pick up the completed script.Determined to learn how films were made, Don worked as a featured extra on numerous Hollywood productions, observing performers such as Roger Moore, Farrah Fawcett and Burt Reynolds from only a few feet away. That led to a memorable evening playing pool with Sammy Davis Jr. after "crashing" the entertainer's film wrap party at his Beverly Hills home. When Hollywood's changing landscape forced Don to reinvent himself, he chose an unexpected path. Despite never having written a novel, he developed “THE 4MIDABLES” as an action-adventure YA trilogy that has earned enthusiastic reviews from readers around the world.Don shares a unique perspective on storytelling, resilience, and reinvention. Whether discussing the Hollywood of the 1980s, the evolution of television writing, the creative process, independent publishing, or the lessons learned over a lifetime in entertainment, he brings humor, behind-the-scenes insights, and memorable real-life stories that leave audiences entertained and inspired.David is excited to share that this very podcast series he has created, The Human Journey – Your Story with David Hackett, has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Life Journey Podcasts on the web by the Million Podcasts panel. This list is the most comprehensive ranking of Life Journey Podcasts online, and they're honored to feature this journey among the best!Visit https://www.millionpodcasts.com/life-journey-podcasts/ to see this exciting news.

Rind and Reason
Lauren shared her personal journey from experiencing youth homelessness at around age 18 to becoming a business owner, homeowner, and single mother. The conversation covered her path from couch-surfing and sleeping outside in Cambridge, MA, to founding Rind and Reason Consulting, which focuses on organizational structure and youth homelessness advocacy. David also briefly shared his own experience with housing instability and sexual assault at 18, creating a mutual exchange of personal stories.Areas CoveredPersonal Background: Youth homelessness experience — couch-surfing, sleeping outside in Harvard Square, connecting with street youth communities.Advocacy & Career Path: Over 10 years of unpaid and paid advocacy work, speaking at state houses, developing Youth Action Boards.Business Growth: Expanded from youth homelessness consulting to broader organizational consulting; now working with the Amherst Chamber of Commerce.Current Challenges: Federal funding uncertainty amid a shifting political climate; most contracts are tied to HUD.Host's Personal Story: David disclosed being kicked out of home at 18 in England, placed by social services, and sexually assaulted shortly after — leading to PTSD and temporary alcohol use to cope.Notable PointsYouth homelessness in the U.S. is defined up to age 24, recognizing that legal adults can still lack independent living experience.Lauren's first night sleeping outside was in a damp, unsanitary basement with a group of street youth in Harvard Square; she immediately made a practical list of what she needed.Early advocacy work was tokenizing — participants were invited to check a box rather than drive real change.Youth Action Boards: Lauren developed strategies to connect young people with local governments to influence program and funding decisions.Lauren noted shelters were more psychologically damaging than sleeping outside due to how staff treated residents. For more information, visit www.rindandreason.com

The Return of Septemics with Jim Marshall
Jim, discoverer and author of Septemics, returned to The Human Journey podcast hosted by David for a follow-up interview approximately four years after their last conversation. The discussion centered on how Septemics has grown globally, with Jim having completed nearly 500 interviews and gaining a worldwide readership. Core themes included practical applications of the system — from relationship decisions to political predictions — and plans for a future visual/slideshow-based follow-up episode, as the original recording listed below is not visual. What Is SeptemicsA natural law-based system comprising 35 scales of human phenomena, each with 7 levels, totaling 245 distinct levels. [Citation]Every person occupies a level on every scale; the system is predictive, not subjective.Represented visually by a 7-pointed, rainbow-spectrum star logo.Developed over 40 years of one-on-one human development work using Socratic dialogue aided by biofeedback, observing ~8,000–9,000 client sessions. Key insight: the system reached its current form in 1995, when a sixth-level scale revealed a missing seventh level, thereby making the data mathematically coherent. Book available at Septemics.com (S-E-P-T-E-M-I-C-S), which includes reader testimonials, press coverage, book excerpts, and a 15-minute prerecorded introduction.https://youtu.be/9KJhsYUaX6A (Part One)https://youtu.be/iteYfgrfPGw (Part Two)

From Martial Arts Master to Spiritual Guide
Guru Yogi Shivan is a modern mystic, master healer, and the living heart of Indimasi Healing Village. He guides those burdened by stress, anxiety, burnout, and silent suffering—not with a diagnosis, but with profound presence, insight, and a path to inner reconnection. From Martial Arts Master to Spiritual GuideBorn Shivadasan in Vakkom, Kerala, Yogi Shivan is a master of Kalaripayattu, karate, and classical dance. In 1989, he moved to Oman in search of work and became a martial arts and yoga instructor. There, he worked with wealthy individuals who, despite their immense riches, lacked health and happiness. He observed the frustration and sorrow of those who could buy anything with money but still couldn’t find contentment. These experiences led him to realize that material wealth alone could not bring true fulfilment, inspiring him to search for something beyond the physical and mental realms.A Sacred Spiritual LineageHis search led him to Swami Shivajyothi Dharmananda of Sree Kanthimutt, who initiated him into the sacred Siddha Yoga tradition. Through this deeksha, Yogi Shivan mastered the practices of Kundalini awakening and inner transformation. This authentic, time-honored lineage is the foundation of Indimasi’s unique healing philosophy today. The Experience: A Conversation, not a DiagnosisGuru Yogi Shivan teaches everyone to bring their attention back to the instinctive impulses, which will lead to the exploration of the realms of the subconscious mind. At Indimasi, he shares a simple truth: true healing begins when the mind quiets and the soul is heard.Guru Yogi Shivan integrates principles of quantum healing as part of a consciousness-based approach to wellness. He does not claim to perform quantum healing as a technique, but emphasizes that consciousness shapes reality. His guidance helps individuals:Understand the mind-body connection at a subtle energy levelRecognize how thoughts and emotions influence physical healthMeditation, pranayama, and self-inquiry are being used to shift inner dimensionsAccess inner intelligence where healing arises from within____________________________________Website - https://indimasi.com/Book an Ask Yogi Session here - https://yogispeaks.my.canva.site/askyogiSpecial Shoutout to Ammie Harrisonhttps://a.co/d/0grqIEYW (Her latest Book is out now)

Trippz
Ebrima Jallow is a Minneapolis-based entrepreneur whose path to tech was anything but linear. Born and raised in The Gambia, he found consistency and pride as a painter, first painting custom window frames and later painting MRI machines. Those years of solitary work in a secluded paint booth became his refuge and creative incubator, planting the seeds for the careful craftsmanship and deep thinking he brings to software today. When the 2008 financial crisis cost him his painting job, Ebrima enrolled in college (fall 2009) to study software development. A lifelong curiosity about the precision of ATMs - machines that effortlessly deliver exactly what you ask for - sparked his fascination with computer science and its power to blend clear instruction with seamless user experience. Even a detour into computer forensics couldn’t derail his passion for product development. Working as a Business Analyst, he learned to translate human needs into functional software, testing and refining ideas until they truly served the people who used them. That experience, coupled with a love of vintage culture and the stories of the past, led him to create Trippz. Ebrima spent countless hours consuming content from the early 2000s, 90s, and 80s, but he noticed a gap on social media: there was no dedicated space to celebrate and preserve these memories. So he built one. Trippz is the first and only social media app exclusively dedicated to nostalgia, inviting people to take a trip, maybe even a few trips, down memory lane, and he’s excited to explore the science behind nostalgia and memory on The Journey Podcast.Trippz Appstore links: Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tripzz.tripzz&hl=en Apple iOS Appstore: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/trippz/id6467197717 Trippz Website: www.gettrippz.com Trippz Socials: Twitter: https://x.com/trippzthrowback?s=11&t=ope6_D1Ifp60bQppwmApHQ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/1XdpCTuwUY/?mibextid=wwXIfr Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/trippzthrowback/profilecard/?igsh=NnYxNmtpZ3dndXEw TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@trippzthrowback?_t=ZT-8sktJKKxGRy&_r=1 Ebrima's Links: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ebrima-jallow-53320a233/X formerly known as Twitter: https://x.com/FulaniDudeFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/ebrima.jallow.927Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fulanidude?igsh=OTBucGxzbXcwbjJ Ebrima’s Direct Contact: [email protected] Shoutout to Ammie Harrisonhttps://a.co/d/0grqIEYW (Her latest Book is out now)

The Perfection Saga

Growing up near Manhattan, she was immersed in New York City’s vibrant music scene, forming lasting connections with musicians in the club circuit while also building a successful corporate career.Beth later relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii, where she raised her three daughters. Stick your Neck Out
John Graham shipped out on a freighter when he was 16, hitchhiked through the Algerian Revolution at 19, and was on the team that made the first ascent of Denali’s North Wall at 20, a climb so dangerous it’s never been repeated. He hitchhiked around the world at 22, working as a correspondent in every war he came across. A US Foreign Service Officer for 15 years, he was in the midst of the 1969 Libyan revolution and the Vietnam War. To the young Graham, adventure was everything, and each brush with death only pushed him to up the ante—and to bury ever deeper the emotional life needed to make him whole. Then it began to change, prompted by agonizing reflections at the height of a battle in Vietnam. At the United Nations, he risked his career, crossing his own government to support initiatives for peace and justice in Asia, Africa, and Cuba. His secret efforts against the UN infuriated racists in the US Congress by engineering a UN plan that helped end apartheid in South Africa. Then came the all-or-nothing bet he was forced to make, fighting for his life in a lifeboat in the middle of a typhoon when his ship caught fire and sank in the Gulf of Alaska. As a global peacebuilder after the Foreign Service, he negotiated with the Khmer Rouge for a cease-fire in Cambodia and helped avert a major strike in Canada, save what’s left of the Everglades, and find long-term environmental solutions in the Pacific Northwest. For years, he contributed to peace efforts in Israel/Palestine (efforts that got him put on George Bush’s No Fly List as a threat to national security) For the last 40 years, he’s been a leader of the Giraffe Heroes Project, a global movement inspiring people to stick their necks out to solve public problems and giving them tools to succeed (giraffe.org). His speeches, blogs, podcasts, and interviews have a global audience. His books include Outdoor Leadership; Stick Your Neck Out–A Street-smart Guide to Creating Change in Your Community and Beyond; a memoir, QUEST: Risk, Adventure, and the Search for Meaning; and Denali Diary, a first-person account of one of the most daring first ascents in North American mountaineering. He has degrees from Harvard and Stanford, neither of which he will ever use.

It’s You, Oh F**k, It’s ME on The Journey
Chad Taylor joins The Journey with a perspective that cuts straight to the heart of how we relate to ourselves and the people we love. As a clinical psychotherapist, he works with individuals and couples facing anxiety, addiction, intimacy challenges, and the deep-rooted patterns that quietly shape our relationships. With nearly two decades of personal recovery and clinical experience behind him, Chad brings forward one confronting truth that I, David Hackett, found both disarming and liberating: most relationship problems aren’t actually about the other person. His book, It’s You, Oh F**k, It’s ME, dives into projection, egocentricity, escapism, attachment, and the unconscious defences we build to avoid real closeness. Chad has a rare ability to blend therapeutic insight with direct, lived honesty—making complex psychological and spiritual ideas feel accessible without diluting their weight.Beyond his private practice, Chad hosts two podcasts exploring relationships and self-awareness, and his work refuses to settle for surface-level advice or quick fixes. Instead, he invites us into responsibility, presence, and repair—the real work beneath the noise. In this episode of The Journey, I share my own reflections alongside Chad’s insights as we explore what it truly means to look inward, own our patterns, and show up differently in the relationships that matter most.Further informationhttps://a.co/d/03MrN567 (Paperback)https://a.co/d/0inx63Y4 (Kindle)https://a.co/d/0deWkeBl (Audible)https://a.co/d/0bwQuZKm (Hardback)https://chadtaylorpsychotherapy.com.au/ (Official Website)

The Outlier Who Gave Attorneys Their Voice: The Story of DM
Dennis “DM” Meador has never fit the mold—and that’s exactly why attorneys trust him to help them stand out. His entrepreneurial spark ignited at just 14 years old, when most teenagers were thinking about homework and weekends, not building businesses. From shoveling snow to mastering SEO before it was cool, DM spent his early years chasing one truth: he loved helping other people grow. That passion followed him everywhere—from his time as a pastor, where he learned the power of genuine communication, to decades in marketing, where he discovered that the best ideas don’t come from selling… they come from conversations.By his early 20s, DM realized his real calling wasn’t just entrepreneurship—it was partnering with other businesses to elevate their voices. That path led him into the legal world, where he spent more than 20 years helping attorneys grow their practices, refine their messaging, and build authority in a crowded marketplace. Then came 2023.A spark of an idea—The Legal Podcast Network—hit him with the force of something inevitable. As he spoke with attorneys, he kept hearing the same question: “Do you guys do podcasts?” The more he explored the concept, the more it grew. By early 2024, the vision was fully formed and officially launched.Today, DM is on a mission: helping attorneys—especially those in smaller or solo practices—step out of the shadows of generic content and into the spotlight of true authority. He believes attorneys shouldn’t sound like everyone else. They should sound like themselves—experienced, insightful, and human.Through The Legal Podcast Network, DM gives attorneys a platform to showcase their expertise, build trust, and attract the clients who truly fit their practice. Not by shouting louder, but by speaking more clearly.Because in DM’s world, authority isn’t claimed—it’s communicated.
