Rui Vieira Nery, musicólogo, ex-secretário de Estado da Cultura, director do programa Gulbenkian de Cultura, é o nosso convidado desta semana. Iniciou os estudos musicais na Academia de Música de Santa Cecília e prosseguiu-os depois no Conservatório Nacional, em Lisboa. Licenciado em História pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, doutorou-se em Musicologia pela Universidade de Austin, no Estado norte-americano do Texas. Foi um dos principais rostos da Candidatura do Fado a Património Imaterial da Humanidade, cuja comissão científica dirigiu, e ocupou o lugar de comissário das Comemorações do Centenário da República Portuguesa. Na biblioteca de Rui Vieira Nery encontramos três grandes núcleos de livros: musicologia, história e ciências sociais, e literatura. Literatura é a que ocupa a maior parte da casa, e, dentro desta área, a poesia, é também muito extensa.
