Russia Overflows into Kazakhstan

On the southern border of Russia lies the massive country of Kazakhstan, a former Soviet Republic. The country, which is mainly Muslim with a Russian minority, has been rocked by protests said to be a result of rising fuel costs. The Kazakhstan government asked Russia for help. The “peace keeping” force being sent by Russia into its neighbour, was described as a "no ordinary peace-keeping force” by The Telegraph Defence Editor Con Coughlin.
