S09E06 - Community Spirit

Community Spirit   If the need for theatre and entertainment was ever in doubt, this week’s guest simply blows any of that uncertainty out of the water! Yes today the Drewling Samantics chaps welcome another superb visitor - Simon Floyd; producer, director, performer, and community theatre advocate and champion.  Simon is a theatre maker and in fact is currently working with Drewling Samantics’ very own Sam, on a new production ‘How’s Your Father’, soon to be touring Norfolk, Suffolk and beyond. Drew and Sam discuss with Simon his passion for and drive to take theatre to places and people who are deprived of the arts, giving them a voice and the opportunity to both see, and often be involved in, productions relevant to them. Simon has some powerful views and Drew and Sam get to share and air them this episode.  Theatre and communication are more important than ever and Simon impresses, not only with the dedication to and joy he clearly has for his work, but also in just how passionate he is about the people he feels lucky enough to encourage and influence.
