Drewling Samantics

Drew and Sam are actors. They haven’t won any Academy Awards yet, and neither of them is in line to be the new James Bond (sorry Sam), but between them they do have over half a century’s worth of experience in the industry. Many months ago a combination of boredom, significantly reduced work opportunities (thanks pandemic!) and overactive and under-stimulated imaginations inspired them to create a podcast, and somehow they’re still at it. Join the Drewling Samantics chaps every Sunday (or download and listen later) as they give an entertaining insight into how their industry works - from modelling to voiceover, theatre to film, and television to streamed media, the gents talk about all areas of performance artistry, giving an insider view that is sometimes humorous, often eye-opening or poignant, and at times just downright strange! With regular guest appearances and the odd special ‘on location’ segment, Drewling Samantics brings something unique and fresh to the world of podcasts

    S16E01 - Sweet Sixteen

Sweet Sixteen      Yes, no need to adjust your YouTube, and you can believe your ears, the boys are back! But it’s not difficult to admit that neither Drew nor Sam are anywhere near sixteen, and as for sweet... well, that’s definitely something not to comment on! So, what exactly is going on with the episode title? Well as everyone has worked out it’s pretty simple, Drewling Samantics has returned for Season Sixteen, which, beyond being sweet, is pretty amazing news!    The chaps are indeed still at it, and are back on the airwaves and our screens after a bit of a break that allowed them time to go off and do more of what they love beyond all else - work! And that extended period away from podcasting means they’ve built up plenty more to talk about, fuel for the fire you might say, that results in them bringing a weekly dose of entertainment and theatre chat to listeners and viewers alike! During this first episode of the new season they take time to describe their various jobs and adventures whilst away, but they also have exciting news and revelations regarding the podcast itself - yet another element worth tuning in for!    So it’s a big welcome to any new listeners, subscribers and followers, and an even bigger welcome back to those who are returning, as all join together and dive in as Drew and Sam kick off the new season. Not sure it gets any sweeter than that!      Social Media  Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics  Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam  Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics    RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music  Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day  Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

Season Fifteen: Best of Drew & Sam

Season Fifteen – Best of Drew & Sam   So for the final time this season, we join the boys as they round off Drewling Samantics Season Fifteen by presenting us with their favourite moments from the past 3 and a half months.  As usual they have spread their net wide week after week, addressing, debating and considering an eclectic mix of opinions, events and subject matter. Among the numerous topics they explored our podcasting pair made Oscar predictions and discussed the different hosts and their presenting styles, explored the origins and progressions of famous stage and screen productions, asked the important questions when it comes to planning and navigating a way through the unpredictable world that is the entertainment industry, and even evaluated the ins and outs of collaborative opportunities and the associated risks therein! So, quite the variety, and, as a result, in this show Drew and Sam bestow upon us a veritable smorgasbord of clips and highlights!  It has been said that “success breeds complacency”, and after over five wonderful years of podcasting you may worry that the chaps might have eased off a little. Fortunately, that is definitely not the case here, as even just a brief visit to this episode will prove that the Drewling Samantics lads are far from resting on their laurels, and are still putting in just as much effort and love as they always have done. So tune in now, see the season out in style, and then look forward to their triumphant return - just in time for summer!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    Season Fifteen: Best of Guests

Season Fifteen – Best of Guests      Regular listeners and viewers are well aware that during this season Drewling Samantics celebrated an impressive milestone - five years of podcasting. So that’s half a decade of chat and banter from the boys, but also five years of fantastic guests from all spheres of the industry.    Season Fifteen certainly sustained the high level of brilliance we have all come to expect when it comes to Drewling Samantics visitors, and Drew and Sam will be the first to admit it was an absolute honour to be impressed, shocked and entertained in equal measure by some superb professionals. Emily Juler, Tom Capper, Kim Scopes, Christophe Philipps, Tommy Murray, Vittorio Verta and Liz Garland all brought their knowledge and talent, wit and laughter, inspiration and insight from their individual areas of expertise and experience in the entertainment universe, and alongside the career and professional talk, there were plenty of very personal stories to share too, both struggles and triumphs.    So tune into this latest compilation episode, as our hosts look back at just a few choice examples from the very many there are to enjoy, and then don’t forget to come back again next week, as the chaps choose their own personal highlights for the final show of Season Fifteen.     Social Media  Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics  Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam  Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics   RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss    Music  Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day  Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S15E13 - Certain Uncertainty

Certain Uncertainty   Drewling Samantics Season Fifteen is on the brink of completion, with only the always enjoyable “Best Of” episodes to come after this week, before Drew and Sam take a break from podcasting and run off for some performing adventures. They are sure they will both have a fabulous time on their upcoming projects, but, enjoyable as they no doubt will be, the chaps are also certain that gigs like these will go by extremely quickly (or it will feel like that anyway), and afterwards there may be a period of being out of work - or at least a level of uncertainty regarding what will come next.  Dealing with the inevitable “less busy” periods is not always easy, but it is a part of the industry that all performers have to address at some point, and equally can be part of the excitement or drive behind what comes next. However, as the boys have mentioned before, there are many factors that govern how these periods feel, or are dealt with. Money, time, availability of appropriate opportunities, hobbies - all these and more can have an effect on what shapes the gaps between specific projects, and ultimately how creatives survive.  Our dynamic duo unpack a few more factors and feelings in this epsiode, and bring us their tried and tested blend of informative and informal, so join them today and make sure you return for the next couple of weeks as well to enjoy the remainder of this season. Don’t worry about the forthcoming break though, because one thing is absolutely certain - Drewling Samantics will return!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S15E12 - Write Place, Write Time

Write Place, Write Time   Drew and Sam host their final guest of Season Fifteen this week, and it’s safe to say they are rounding off in style with a visit from the delightful and enormously talented Liz Garland. Both boys have had the pleasure of working with Lizzie, and indeed she has crossed paths with quite a few of the podcast’s previous guests as well, but being the in-demand actor, writer, producer and coach (to name but a few of the guises she takes on in this varied industry) that she is, it’s certainly no wonder!  Her current production ‘Becoming Simone’ opens the week after this episode is released, and sets off on what is undoubtedly going to be a hugely successful maiden tour. As Lizzie explains, the play’s journey from first writing to developing into a full stage production has been a long but enjoyable one, and it has taken quite some determination and graft - but fortunately neither are things that she is afraid of! As well as enjoying her own successes, Lizzie helps others achieve theirs with her work as a coach, teaching and encouraging speakers and presenters in the corporate world, sharing powerful and valuable tips, tricks and advice, and providing support to all who are lucky enough to receive it.  Beyond being generous with her various skills and talents, Lizzie is also kind enough to give up some time for this brilliant podcast appearance, and, just like Drew and Sam, we are extremely glad she did, as it is the perfect way to round off another roster of fabulous Drewling Samantics guests.   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/LizzieGarland Forest-Arts.co.uk  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S15E11 - Hopes, Hosts and Hoorays

Hopes, Hosts and Hoorays   The Drewling Samantics boys are playing catch up this week, having got together with friend of the pod Phillip Lee a fortnight ago to record an episode in style, and actually getting the chance to work together in person on a immersive  job last week, as well as welcoming the brilliant Vittorio Verta to the show, this latest outing finally provides the opportunity for the chaps to look back at the Oscar predictions they made a few episodes ago. Some they got right and some they didn’t, but it definitely sparks an interesting look at how awards ceremonies are presented, received and used.  As with all aspects of life, not everything goes smoothly, especially when it comes to host and winners’ speeches, which can sometimes take an unexpected turn. Personality and politics make an interesting mix, and Drew and Sam open a whole “golden envelope” of opinions and events - both exciting and shocking!  However, one thing is for certain, and that is that each year the awards season is highly anticipated, discussed at length, and immensely enjoyed by audience and performers alike. And, as such, Drew and Sam will continue to enjoy talking about them, as well as keeping their fingers crossed - you never know what the future holds!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S15E10 - Lighting Up The World

Lighting Up The World  Tuning in to Drewling Samantics this week provides a chance to shine a light (if you’ll excuse the pun!) on another facet and specialised area of the performance world - stage and show lighting. It is rather ironic that the experts and technicians in one of the most important focal points (forgive that one too!) in a production, and one without which performers would very much be in the dark (ok, enough now), prefer to remain unseen (that was definitely the last one, promise!) In fact, as this week’s guest Vittorio Verta explains, if they are noticed it usually signals something is amiss! Vittorio is a designer, creator, programmer and operator of lighting for many productions and performers, but that is putting things far too simply as becomes apparent during his visit with Drew and Sam. Permanently in demand, and always busy, Vittorio is currently working on a brand new touring music show with a top artist, and, as of episode release date, is travelling the USA, moving from venue to venue keeping everything running smoothly. And that is just one of a number of productions this quietly brilliant creative is developing - a master of multitasking you might say! As always Drew and Sam are delighted to chat to another unsung hero of the entertainment industry, no doubt listeners and watchers will enjoy this insight too.  Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/VVLXLighting VVLXLighting.co.uk  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S15E09 - You Scratch My Back

You Scratch My Back   An episode about collaboration, brought to you by means of a collaboration! This week Drew and Sam are joined (albeit hiding behind all his fancy technical gear!) by past Drewling Samantics guest Phillip Lee, who, using his talents as a videographer and creator, helps record this latest podcast appearance of the boys at Sam’s flat - a rare but always welcomed in-person meeting for our presenting pair!  Drew and Sam have previously discussed the virtues and pitfalls of working for little or no money in the industry, and they revisit the subject this week to delve further into connected elements of that side of the business. Their conversation sees agreements and differences of opinion regarding passion projects, the promise of exposure, risk for producers and performers alike, and whether those not taking a wage truly ever benefit. It’s a topic that is always likely to be contentious, but it is also a part of the industry that will be ever present, and, no matter where they personally stand, or the views that are taken generically by anyone involved, Drew and Sam acknowledge it will never be easy to navigate.  And, easy or not to deal with, the subject is certainly fascinating, so with thanks to Phil’s expertise making them look better than ever, the chaps deliver another top quality episode on this and provocative and entertaining topic.   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S15E08 - Tommy, To You

Tommy, To You  This season of Drewling Samantics may have passed the half way mark, but the boys are certainly not delivering any half measures with their latest guest - the enormously entertaining and fabulously funny, Tommy Murray.  He may spend a great deal of his time clowning around and playing for laughs, but when it comes to his work Tommy is nothing but serious. Taking inspiration from such performers as Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and some more modern funny-men (kudos to anyone who spotted the hint in the episode title!), Tommy is a skilled and experienced clown and physical comedian, as well as a seasoned stage performer and coach. His art has taken him around the world, both teaching and performing, and Tommy has also produced and written shows, including most recently working with comedy troop back home, who are creating and performing sketches that will premiere at some up-coming London shows. Tommy’s energy and enthusiasm is infectious, and he enjoys regaling stories of his life in clowning and performing almost as much as we all love hearing them. So what are you waiting for?! Get comfy, and find out more about Tommy as he chats to Drew and Sam, now!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/FoolsTalkTheatre Instagram.com/Tommy.Murray1  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S15E07 - High Five

High Five   Whether you’re a regular listener, a sporadic viewer, a past guest, or a relative newcomer, you may not realise that this has been a rather momentous week for Drewling Samantics - the show is five years old! That’s right, for half a decade Drew and Sam have been delighting (or disappointing, depending on your point of view - although if you’ve come back for more, it certainly can’t be the latter!) visitors to their podcast, and they couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved!  What started as a lockdown pressure release and grumble outlet, has become an extremely important, significant and positive part of their professional and personal lives. Brought to the world from Drew’s ‘sofa of dreams’ and Sam’s tech-savvy studio, as well as sporadic transmissions from various digs and venues around the country, Drewling Samantics has grown exponentially, and now holds a fond place in the hearts of many podcast listeners and YouTube viewers - far exceeding anyone’s expectations or indeed intentions. Did our chaps expect to be broadcasting for this long? Probably not, but then not everything can be planned or predicted, which is certainly true in an industry as unpredictable as the entertainment business.  Beyond reflecting on the past five years of creating content, today the lads also discuss planning in general when it comes to the world of performance. But have either of them set goals or attempted to formulate a plan - five year or otherwise? You’ll have to join Drew and Sam now to find out, as they chat about their personal approach to work, past present, and future.  Well well well - five years and going strong, who’d have thunk it?! Safe to say we’re all glad they’re still about though, and mirror the big thanks the gents give to everyone that has made, and continues to make, Drewling Samantics such an undoubted success.   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S15E06 - Proud to Present

Proud to Present   ‘Inspiring’ is a word that’s often overused, but in the case of this week’s Drewling Samantics guest, it is not only accurate, but well and truly deserved.  Christophe Philipps has taken a professional journey as a musician, actor and presenter that has been as much shaped and determined by powerful personal circumstances, as it has his talent. He speaks of his experiences eloquently and with a beguiling simplicity and honesty that one cannot help but be moved by; but perhaps more impressive and moving still, is his outlook on life and work, and what he gives back through teaching and mentoring.  Along with being a fabulous actor and renowned public speaker and MC/event host, Christophe is also a fellow podcaster, and, like Drew and Sam, enjoys recording regular episodes with his long-time friend turned presenting partner. He and Pete Mason, another fantastic podcaster, co-host “Minus the Hangover”, a show all about the ever growing market for, and enjoyment of, low and no alcohol beverages, and the Drewling Samantics boys highly recommend you tune in - they’re both genuine listeners themselves!  But before you veer off and enjoy another top podcast, tune in to this latest Drewling Samantics guest episode to be inspired by Christophe Philipps; safe to say it’s likely to brighten any dark day.   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  EventMC.uk MinusTheHangover.com  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S15E05 - The Chicken or the Egg

The Chicken or the Egg   Film? Book? Play? TV? No, despite how it may appear, Drew and Sam aren’t playing charades on Drewling Samantics this week; however there are some questions to be asked, and they’re certainly doing their best to make sure they answer them!  Many of us will have watched a production on stage or screen, and wondered where the idea first came from. Equally, reading a book often generates the thought that the subject matter would make a great film. But do we ever actually delve further into things and find out the origins of creations we’ve enjoyed? Or if certain stories have spanned multiple formats? Well in today’s episode the boys do exactly that!  Discussing some of their favourite productions, our podcasting pair take a deep dive into their origins - from the most prolific contributors, to the ideas that spawned massive franchises, this is a light hearted and fascinating look at what does (or doesn’t!) make a for great product. And with examples of books that have been made into films, movies that inspired musicals, plays that are based on real-life events, and almost every other combination you can imagine, this episode certainly covers the lot!  So it may not be quite as scientific as the chicken and egg debate, but to find out “which came first” in regards to some very familiar films, novels and stage shows, why not join the chaps now - even if it’s for no other reason than to confirm that occasionally Drew and Sam are capable of doing a little research!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S15E04 - Pulling the Strings

Pulling the Strings   The Drewling Samantics boys welcome a guest with magic in her hands this week, the wonderful Kim Scopes, whose talent is bringing seemingly inanimate objects to life, to delight and entertain. Kim is a highly skilled puppeteer and theatre creative, working in numerous areas of performance from TV to commercials and theatre to immersive events. She trained as an actor but, as she explains to Drew and Sam, Kim discovered an ability and natural aptitude for puppetry which she seized with both hands (if you’ll excuse the pun!)  Wearing the title of puppeteer with pride and passion, Kim has taken her ability, and in turn the puppets she has animated, into new realms. As well as working on screen and at events, she is also a regular cabaret performer, writing and creating solo shows to delight audiences of all kinds. And beyond the solo element of her work, Kim also explains the dedication and team work that the art often demands, both physically and mentally, in order to create the wonderful illusion of life. Kim is as charming and delightful as her creations, and with boundless energy and an infectious feeling for fun, she is a fantastic guest bringing insight and enthusiasm to this week’s episode. S15E03 - The Big O

The Big O   Another year comes around, another awards season swings in to action, and it’s another year where Drew and Sam have been passed over for glory. Are they disappointed? Well, maybe just a little, but certainly not enough to stop them seizing the opportunity to mull over the nominations and potential winners! It may not be one of the boys that ends up with a lovely shiny statue on their mantelpiece this time, but on today’s show the chaps discuss some very excited and nervous people, who will no doubt have their fingers tightly crossed!  Yes it’s another fun show today, with highly encouraged “audience participation”, as the Drewling Samantics lads consider the Oscar nominees, and (after much contemplation, deliberation, examination and, well, guess work!) they make their predictions for who and what will take home the gold! From the reasons for nominations and potential victories, to debating the benefits from ‘the nod’ and the sought after win, our dynamic duo consider everything that goes into, and occurs due to these occasions - after all, Actors’ careers are enhanced, and studios sell more films as a result, right...?  Join Drew and Sam now to enjoy a humorous and interesting take on the upcoming awards, and perhaps suggest your own predictions, as the boys promise to revisit and review just how well they, and maybe others, have done, once all has been revealed!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S15E02 - Double Trouble

Double Trouble   It’s always an exciting prospect when Drew and Sam welcome a visitor to Drewling Samantics, so that surely means this week is even more special, as the boys have the pleasure of welcoming delightful couple Emily Juler and Tom Capper to podcast HQ.  Performers, creatives, writers, producers, teachers and more, Emily and Tom are a truly charming pair, who successfully manage both their impressive careers and their happy marriage while somehow surviving the ups and downs of the entertainment industry! Talking to our hosts today, they share how they met, the work they enjoy together and separately, future projects, and even some wonderful advice and insights too.  Emily delights in her work and is soon off on a short tour reprising one of her favourite roles, while Tom has just finished a long pantomime run and is embarking on an exciting writing project, so although they clearly spend a lot of their lives sharing things and experiences, they equally have individual focuses and pursuits (and are 100% supportive of one another - one of the secrets to their happiness perhaps?!  Drewling Samantics hits it big with this first brilliant guest episode, and as it’s two for the price of one it is well worth getting to know this fabulous couple - so don’t hesitate, get involved now!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/Emily.Juler Instagram.com/TomCapperActor  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

eXciting reVival   What, well where did that come from?! It’s only an episode of Drewling Samantics, that’s all! Yes the boys are finally back and rather than building up to this exciting new season they’ve just dropped it on us without warning - shocking, but rather enjoyable we can all agree!  So yes, Christmas is over, New Year has been and gone, and it remains to be seen whether Drew and Sam have made any resolutions...! They have, however, definitely finished their seasonal contracts, and that means they are well and truly back for Drewling Samantics Season Fifteen. We kick off in this brand new episode with the chaps welcoming listeners and viewers both new and old, and filling us all in on their past few weeks' activities and work. Then, looking forward, not only do they both have plenty of exciting jobs coming up, but along with that the industry is plunging into numerous awards ceremonies, so the lads discuss recent winners and pontificate over potential nominees and future winners too.  With much to look forward to this is the perfect opening to what promises to be another exciting and intriguing season, especially with a great roster of visiting guests (not that our dynamic duo are leaking any of their names just yet!) Season Fourteen: Best of Drew & Sam

Season Fourteen – Best of Drew & Sam   Well another season of Drewling Samantics has reached its climax, and rather good timing too as both boys are now fully immersed in their respective seasonal contracts (it’s almost like they planned the dates - maybe they’re better at this than they give themselves credit for?!)  It’s been a fantastic fifteen weeks or podcast content, which has included fabulous guests, brilliant discussions, highly interesting facts, and the usual generous helping of banter, mickey taking and ridiculousness too! The chaps have had a blast bringing us more episodes of entertainment and have certainly earned themselves a break. But not before this final outing of course, where we all get to dive in one last time and experience their favourite moments, most memorable clips, and personal highlights from what has been a decidedly enjoyable fourteenth season.  So sit back, and let yourselves be amused, shocked and thrilled for one last time in 2025, as everyone’s favourite podcasters bring you: Drewling Samantics Season Fourteen - Best of Drew and Sam!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    Season Fourteen: Best of Guests

Season Fourteen – Best of Guests      Drew and Sam are back for this, their penultimate episode of Season Fourteen, and as always they have found it extraordinarily difficult but extremely enjoyable selecting their favourite highlights from the brilliant guest episodes of this season.    An exciting and interesting, varied and fascinating gathering of visitors dropped into Drewling Samantics HQ during the latter part of 2025, and each of them gave all sorts of wonderful insights into their section of the business. Jack Tyler Fisher provided the music, Sayed Jawad the very moving pictures, Tilly Burrows made sure everyone was well dressed, Albert Bramante kept heads well screwed on, Ralph Jones ensured nobody was ever lost for words, and Rachel Fullegar kept everything moving smoothly!    And if that isn’t enough of a teaser to Season Fourteen’s company of professionals, simply give this ‘Best of Guests’ compilation a try and you are sure to be diving into the full episodes in no time! Our podcasting pair are forever grateful to those who give their time to join them on the show, and we couldn’t agree more, so an enormous thank you to them all.    Next week Drew and Sam to wind up another great season with their final episode - their own highlights and best bits, so after checking out today’s offering, make sure you do the same next Sunday as well!      Social Media  Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics  Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam  Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics   RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss    Music  Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day  Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

Legends and Legacies   Another fabulous season of Drewling Samantics may be drawing to a close, but Drew and Sam aren’t slowing down - no they’re doing what they do best, and keeping the content coming by having another a good old chat!  Reflecting on the fantastic episodes and wonderful guests of the past three or so months, it really isn’t all that surprising that they still have immense fun getting together (be that virtually or in person) to talk about the business they enjoy so much, and are privileged to work in. Today’s show also gives the chaps an opportunity to pay tribute to two inspirational actors who sadly passed away recently, but have left an important and indelible mark upon our podcasting pair, along with the rest of the industry and the vast audiences who were lucky enough to experience and enjoy their work. This in turn inspires discussions on stand out members from the world of performance, and dream scene/film/stage partners - be that due to their versatility, ability, or otherwise - who anyone would give their left arm to have the opportunity to work with.  Sometime the lads can become quite philosophical, deep and honest, which certainly is has its positives, but as always the Drewling Samantics boys are a force to be reckoned with - never standing still too long, and trying their best not to take life too seriously! And fortunately for us, with “Best Of” highlight episodes to plan, and Season Fifteen just about visible on the 2026 horizon, they aren’t going anywhere. Except off to entertain the masses for Christmas!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S14E12 - Dance To Your Own Tune

Dance To Your Own Tune   Today the final Drewling Samantics guest of Season 14 steps through the virtual doors, and how very lucky we all are to meet her! Rachel Fullegar is one busy lady, particularly at this time of the year, what with many seasonal productions in various stages of creation and completion, but what is it exactly that she does?  Well, you’ll have to check out this episode for specifics, but Rachel certainly is an incredibly talented creative, spinning all sorts of plates as a dancer and choreographer, lecturer, performer, producer, director and more (just a few strings to her bow then!) Alongside her many specialties, Rachel’s other strengths include her self-knowledge and willingness to learn or change course to improve her skills and prospects, and chatting with Drew and Sam she shares her honest, pragmatic and inspiring approach to all things performance.  Rachel’s calm and charming personality hides the dynamo within, but nothing is hidden as she shares her knowledge and experience with our podcasting presenters, for this latest fabulous Drewling Samantics episode.   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam YouTube.com/@DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/GraceFoolCollective Instagram.com/RachelFullegar   RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S14E11 - We're Gonna Need Another Quote

We’re Gonna Need Another Quote   It’s probably not that tricky to predict this week’s subject matter if you take a look at the episode title! Yes, famous film quotes are the topic of discussion in this latest Drewling Samantics show, and if you’re listening to or watching this podcast it’s fair to say you’re probably a keen film fan. Like many fans Drew and Sam are fond of a good memorable and/or impactful film quote, and in fact in some instances are able to remember more than just a line or two from personal favourites. So why exactly is that important today? Well Drew has been let loose on the internet with a notebook and pen and has a challenge for Sam, and, as long-term fans will know, that always tends to have some interesting results!  As mentioned, most of us can comfortably quote a line here or there, and may even feel proud we have memorised significant parts of our favourite movies, Alternatively, we may just find cause to use a famous film phrase because it fits a certain situation. But are we always quoting verbatim? Or has a line entered every day usage and is being incorrectly recited without our knowing?  Who needs a bigger boat? Is there such a thing as a dirty rat? Could you pass that box of chocolates Mrs Robinson? Bastardising and paraphrasing aside, these (or parts of them) are all very familiar, but maybe not quite as you initially imagine! So join Drew and Sam today and enjoy spotting the errors and finding out more about some stories behind some of the most famous and common movie misquotes!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S14E10 - Literarily Laughing

Literarily Laughing   A gentleman of letters joins Drewling Samantics as this week’s fabulous guest. Ralph Jones is a journalist, author, script writer and comedian, and as if that wasn’t enough to keep him busy, he also crops up on various platforms as a performer and contributor. How does he fit it all in?!  Fortunately he’s full of energy, and to aid in keeping all his plates spinning as it were, Ralph has a great knack of seeing the world from a different and often very funny angle. His writing has appeared in national newspapers and magazines around the world, and he’s had the pleasure (mostly!) of interviewing celebrities and personalities of all kinds, feeding them many interesting and challenging questions, and receiving some interesting and challenging responses in return!  His books are both funny and enlightening, lifting the lid on delightful unknown hobbies and professions, and inventing new unusual places that it is more than a joy to “visit”.  Erudite, witty and charming Ralph is another wonderful guest Drew and Sam are delighted to interview and share with their listeners and viewers. Oh and just as a side note, Ralph has a knack for winning competitions, with his most recent prize making for a surprising and complicated addition to his life... Well there’s only one way to find out more about that, so what are you waiting for?!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam YouTube.com/@drewlingsamantics  MrRalphJones.co.uk OhHiRalphJones.Bsky.Social TheAwkwardSilence.co.uk  RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S14E09 - What On Earth Are You Wearing?

What On Earth Are You Wearing?   Drew and Sam are back for another instalment of chat and banter, so, having both engaged in a very busy week of work related travelling, they hang up their coats and settle in for a bit podcast fun. Today’s meeting sees the chaps taking the opportunity to discuss dressing up for a living - in other words, costume and wardrobe!  One of the great joys of being an actor is clearly the variety of personalities and characters and, in-turn, the costumes and “disguises” one might be lucky enough to experience. As the boys reveal, the options are limitless, including favourite costumes, those that are essential or cannot be avoided simply because of who the character is, and even outfits the actor gets to create themselves. Equally there are also circumstances where the costume isn’t easy to wear, take a lot of preparation to get ready or into, and many have other challenges of their own, but, as is the case in many aspects of this unusual vocation, variety is the spice of life, and for our podcasting pair the positives seem to almost always outweigh the negatives!  So tune in as yet another fascinating subject is tackled by the Drewling Samantics chaps, and feel free to do so in whatever guise you wish to adopt!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S14E08 - All in the Mind

All in the Mind   Another week means another guest, but any suggestion that that brings an element of repetition is nonsense, as today’s episode is far from boring or run of the mill! You see today the Drewling Samantics boys welcome a guest with a difference - he’s very much a part of the industry, but has a unique combination of skills that you could say put a very different slant on things!  Professor Albert Bramante joins Drew and Sam very early in the morning from America to talk about the psychology and mindset of actors. The proud owner of a PHD in Psychology, and also a trained clinical hypnotist, Albert is immersed in the performance industry too, having performed previously himself, and is even an agent and casting director to boot! So, if anyone can work out what is going through an actor’s mind while working (and equally not working), Albert is your man!  Fiercely intelligent and knowledgeable in his field, he also loves working with and being in the company of actors, and his seemingly endless expertise mean he’s able to give some fascinating and informative insights into what he does and why. His generous and caring nature reveals how he continues to help and guide actors to better performances and healthier lives “off stage”, and this invaluable advice is something he makes available and accessible to all.  So what are you waiting for?! Dive straight in to this latest fabulous episode to find out a whole lot more from this hugely intellectual and entertaining gentleman.   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam YouTube.com/@drewlingsamantics  AlbertBramante.com Instagram.com/DrAlbert Bramante  RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S14E07 - Self Improv-ment

Self Improv-ment   Despite careful pre-planning and in-depth discussion, Drew and Sam readily admit that it may at times look as if they are making things up on the spot. In fact the content they bring us is frequently sporadic and “off-the-cuff”, but actually it’s fair to say that that’s part of the joy of Drewling Samantics. Yes, regardless of how much prep they’ve done, our podcast presenters never truly know for sure what will happen - especially when entertaining one of their fire-cracker guests! This week’s episode doesn’t have a visitor to bring unpredictability, so instead Drew and Sam (ironically) are making things up about making things up - it’s time to talk improvisation!  Improvisation is a very important and, more often than not, highly entertaining part of theatre, dance, comedy and various other performing arts. It can even be planned to some extent, which seems a weird contradiction, but improvisation shows and shows, sometimes focusing around a theme, are growing more and more popular, with a large part of the thrill is that audiences get to enjoy being part of or affecting the action. There are even plays and films that have been developed purely around improvisation, which in turn can result in something quite spectacular. Today the boys chat about their own experiences, from shows where improvisation played a major part, to those auditions and rehearsals where ‘improv’ (as it is commonly known) has been an important element.  So join the chaps now for another excellent episode that they couldn’t have planned better really - a show made up of making things up (and if that’s not Drewling Samantics we don’t know what is!)     Social Media  Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics  Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam  Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics    RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music  Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day  Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S14E06 - Dress to Impress

Dress to Impress   Whether you are a regular listener or viewer, or a relative newcomer to the podcast, this week’s episode is sure to be quite the treat, as the delightful and talented Tilly Burrows joins Drew and Sam for a chat. Tilly is a theatre professional and creative currently working in yet another field of the business that gets less coverage (excuse the slight pun!) than it deserves - it’s even a subject the Drewling Samantics boys haven’t really covered despite their many season of content!  Tilly is a dresser, and has worked for the past couple of years on the smash hit musical Hamilton. Her vital job includes making actors look good, expediting quick changes, and managing costume maintenance - and just in case any of her colleagues should be unavailable for whatever reason, she learns all the other dressers’ “tracks” as well! It’s safe to say it’s quite a unique role, and without her skill, and that of those working alongside her (and on many, many other productions), the actors would be pretty drab and well behind the action! A combination of infinite patience, good humour and stamina are just a few of the essential skills that Tilly has in abundance, then add to that her theatrical brain and extensive experience in multiple disciplines (despite being so young), and it’s no surprise she excels in her integral role within the backstage team.  So join Drew and Sam today, as they chat with another of the industry’s unseen, unsung, but essential cogs in the performance machine, and find out more about why Tilly is another fabulous guest whose invaluable contributions are appreciated by actors and audiences alike.   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/Tilly_Burrows  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S14E05 - In the Spotlight

In The Spotlight      This week there’s a VIE (Very Important Episode) coming from Drewling Samantics HQ, and not just because Drew and Sam are tackling a rather serious subject. Why then? Well, insert fanfare here - today’s is the two hundredth show! Yes, they said it couldn’t be done, there was no future, the boys must be fools… well actually no one said anything of the sort, but nonetheless our podcasting pair, along with their multitude of fabulous guests, have quietly totted up an amazing two hundred episodes! Through good times and hard times, during heavy work schedules and tours, and all while navigating various tricky and entertaining situations, topics and discussions, Drew and Sam have reached another Drewling Samantics recording milestone, and clearly they have enjoyed every single minute.    So, to today’s topic, and it’s one affecting many, if not nearly all professional creatives within the performance industry in the UK. This latest outing has the boys picking over the recent legal case between Equity, the actors’ union, and Spotlight, “the home of casting”, about fees for services provided, and their validity/justification. It’s a dispute that’s been going on for some time now, and a recent big development has resulted in a potential outcome which deserves to be delved into. Whether you are a member of one or both organisations, or know nothing of the events at all, it is an interesting and challenging subject, so will no doubt promote the thoughts and comments of Drewling Samantics fan, followers, listeners and watchers, as well as giving an insight into how the boys themselves are affected, and their opinions on the situation in general.   So join Drew and Sam on this significant day, as they discuss a somewhat difficult side of the industry, while celebrating a huge podcasting achievement!      Social Media  Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics  Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam  Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics    RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss    Music  Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day  Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S14E04 - The Heart of the Matter

The Heart of the Matter      The Drewling Samantics boys are back once again with another cracking episode, and to make things even better they are joined by another fabulous guest this week who drops in with an amazing story to tell!    Syed Jawad is a film-maker, musician, songwriter and YouTube content creator, and, despite being relatively new to the industry, he certainly isn’t hanging around when it comes to making progress! Prior to immersing himself in the entertainment world, Syed had a successful career in a totally different area, but then he found himself on the receiving end of a life changing event that did literally that - it changed his life! He is the first to admit it’s been for the better, and his sense of humour and fun, and sheer joy in what he does, belie the amazing back story he has to tell. As the founder of his production company The Film Studio, Syed has flourished personally and professionally, and as he explains, for him those two things are inextricably linked.    So don’t hesitate, there’s no better time to tune in, as Syed’s visit to Drewling Samantics results in a candid, revealing and heart-warming discussion that is sure to entertain and inspire.      Social Media  Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics  Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam  Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics    TheFilmStudio.co  Instagram.com/SyedsLife  TikTok.com/@SyedsLife YouTube.com/@SyedsLife   RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss    Music  Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day   Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S14E03 - Play It Again Sam?

Play It Again Sam?   Our podcasting pair are in an inquisitive mood this week, firing questions at each other and delving into past roles and shows. Drewling Samantics followers may remember the boys previously discussing some of the favourite plays and parts they’ve enjoyed, and it just so happens that Drew had the opportunity to revisit one of his most fondly remembered during his recent “rep” season. But was it as good as last time? And how does Sam feel about repeating a role or show? There are inevitably some they’d love to have a stab at again, but equally, there are some best left (for whatever reason!) to remain as memories. Interesting feelings and thoughts arise as they question how they would feel and deal with a revisit, in different circumstances, and with different cast members.  So tune in to the latest episode of everyone’s favourite podcast, to experience a conversation that is more than just a trip down memory lane, but a look at how attitudes and approaches to certain roles are tempered over time. Drew and Sam are on top form and some intriguing questions and answers await viewers and listeners alike.     Social Media  Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics  Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam  Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics    RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music  Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day  Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S14E02 - CrackerJack

CrackerJack   Everybody loves a good podcast guest, but a good guest isn’t what’s on the menu this week on Drewling Samantics, as describing the first visitor of Season Fourteen as merely “good” would be quite the insult! Yes, today the boys are thrilled to welcome the immensely talented and rather bloody brilliant Mr Jack Tyler Fisher to the show.  Jack, like many of the highly-skilled friends of the podcast, is a multi-faceted creative: musician, actor, and writer - he works across many genres and areas of the industry. He’s moved effortlessly from talented musician to actor, at one time touring with the podcast’s very own Sam (make your own decisions as to whether that is a positive career moment!) They worked together on ‘How’s Your Father’ where Jack displayed his emotional depth and character skills, alongside his impressive comic ability and natural musical aptitude.  More recently Jack has been involved with the production of a new TV sitcom ‘Bowl’ with exciting developments relating to that in the pipeline. Diving into the music side, his band Bayou have been tasting success with nominations for awards and tour dates aplenty, and Jack has been able to embrace his love of writing music and giving voice to his compositions.  So tune in now to find out lots more about this lovely lad - you don’t want to miss Jack’s visit to Drewling Samantics as this talented gentleman doesn’t stand still for long!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/JackTFisher Instagram.com/Bayou_TheBand  RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S14E01 - Ten-Four Good Buddies

Ten-Four Good Buddies     Fourteen isn’t normally considered to be a particularly significant number. It’s not the first teenage year, it’s more than a Baker’s Dozen, it isn’t associated with bad luck or other superstitions, and from a mathematical point of view it doesn’t really have many special numerical characteristics. But to Drew and Sam, everyone’s favourite podcast presenters, it is a rather important number indeed.    And yes, you’ve guessed why - the boys are BACK, and welcoming us in to this, their FOURTEENTH season of performance industry chat! This season promises to be another cracker, with lots of brilliant guests, more news and discussions, plenty of banter and all the other Drewling Samantics content we’ve come to know and love.    To long-time followers and fans, it’s a welcome return for the boys, who take time in this episode to explain what they’ve been up to since we last heard from them, and what is to come over the next fifteen weeks. To newcomers it’s a fun introduction to two seasoned pro’s (both of podcasting and their respective jobs) within a rather unique vocational world.    So what are you waiting for?! Season Thirteen: Best of Guests

Season Thirteen – Best of Guests   Sadly we’re nearly there, the end of Season Thirteen. But Drew and Sam would never leave us hanging, and as is customary in the latter stages of a season, they’ve managed to take an entertaining dip into all Season Thirteen’s guest episodes, and assembled a selection of prize moments for us to re-live and re-enjoy.  It seems immensely tricky trying to squeeze so many great moments into one episode, but our podcasting pair have achieved the seemingly impossible once again! From drumming to children’s TV, travel to magic, and career changes to photography, the Drewling Samantics duo were treated to some enormously varied entertaining insights and stories by their creative visitors, and in turn are sharing it all with us once again.  If you accidentally missed seeing any of the amazing appearances from Robin Payne, Colleen Daley, Freddie Brandes, Paul Burley, Tim Nixon and Brian Worley, then what were you doing?! But fortunately all is not lost, as now is a chance to experience the choicest moments from these incredibly talented people before you hit the archives and enjoy those shows in their full glory. And just when you thought the pinnacle had been reached, Drew and Sam will be back next week with favourite moments from their other episodes - somehow Season Thirteen still has more to give!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S13E13 - Bag of Tricks

Bag of Tricks   So for the final time this season, Drew and Sam get together for a podcast appearance full of the usual banter and nonsense, before they take a break and recharge their podcast batteries in readiness for Season Fourteen. While both the boys are about to be off for a few weeks, Drew is taking that quite literally, embarking on a month long stint in Lyme Regis performing in three plays at the fabulous Marine Theatre. With that in mind his impending need to pack his suitcase has inspired the lads to discuss exactly what they put into their touring bags and what bits of kit they always have ready for the road.  Covering all eventualities work-wise, last minute self-tapes and voiceover submissions require microphones and cameras, tripods, editing kit, lights and all manner of other useful gear that helps enable an actors’ life to continue, despite not being at home. Also, there are those little home comforts that, when in strange digs and limited spaces, go a long way to making life a bit more bearable - however welcoming those homes, and at times their hosts, may be. And the same applies to dressing rooms, just how long will you be there and does that change how you “set up”?  All this is considered and more, and goes into making this a truly cracking last episode before the final ‘Best Of’ compilations shows round off another fantastic season of Drewling Samantics.   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S13E12 - Photogenius

Photogenius   Sadly, we have reached the final guest episode of this Drewling Samantics season, but the boys (and their visitor) are making sure Season Thirteen is finishing up in picture-perfect fashion!  Now it could be said it doesn’t take a genius to be photogenic, but it does take a certain genius to spot it, or to be able to seize an opportunity to take a perfect photograph and capture a once in a life time moment. This week Drew and Sam are joined by Brian Worley, a man who just so happens to have that gift.  With insights into the art of photography, working with models, using technology to enhance art, and explaining how to grab the moment and get ‘the shot’, Brian is a fabulous and knowledgeable guest with plenty to share. With an engineering background, and the ability to effortlessly convey his enthusiasm for his work, Brian has developed a successful career full of highlights and exciting projects, and to top it all off, he also passes on his expertise when teaching and working with budding photographers - what a guy!  “But where can we see his work?” you may ask? Well aside from the links in this description, Drew and Sam have also included some wonderful images captured by Brian on the YouTube version of this episode, so there’s never been a better time jump on and take a look!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  Instagram.com/P4Pictures Twitter.com/P4Pictures P4Pictures.com  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S13E11 - Panel Beating

Panel Beating   It can be a strange and interesting journey in the entertainment world, just when you think you know your place and start to establish some form of predictability, along comes a job or opportunity and the tables are turned!  A few episodes ago Drew and Sam took on the topic of auditions, and discussed what can be involved in, and how they navigate those tricky but oh so very important moments in a performer’s life. In today’s show they flip things round and give some insight into their experiences of being on the other side of that audition process. Both of the chaps have held castings, sat in on auditions, or been involved in assembling a team for various productions, but just how (if at all) does actually being an actor affect their approach and treatment of those attending the castings? And what have been the results of, and, perhaps most importantly of all, what have they learned from these auditions?  Well you can join our dynamic duo for another interesting and amusing chat that answers all those questions and more, as well as finding out how being part of an audition panel can be as intimidating and stressful as being in front of one! The usual variety of advice, debates and funny stories that we’ve all come to know and love make this yet another fabulous episode from the Drewling Samantics boys, so check it out now!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S13E10 - Off the Rails

Off the Rails   Have no fear, today’s episode title isn’t suggesting that Drew and Sam are straying from the straight and narrow, nor have they lost all reason (well no more than usual anyway!) Thankfully, Drewling Samantics will continue to be the very best it can be. In actual fact, “Off the Rails” refers, rather appropriately, to this week’s fabulous guest, Tim Nixon.  Both the boys have had the pleasure of working with Tim, and knew a little of his ‘life before the boards’, but Tim has much more to tell. Prior to making the decision to become an actor full-time (if there is such a thing!), Tim had a very long and successful career as a… Well it’s no good revealing that just yet, that’s to find out in the show itself! But suffice to say he helped keep Londoners on the move, before he himself made his substantial career move.  Tim tells the Drewling Samantics chaps about his past work, sharing some great stories and memories, and then explains how and why he turned life on its head to become an performer. Although relatively new to the business, he has had much success in many fields, and the relish with which he tackles his work is truly inspiring to anyone new to this world - or equally those who are also considering taking the leap.  All aboard for a fabulous guest episode, it’s just the ticket…alright time to stop that now!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics   Instagram.com/Tim.Nixon.790  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S013E09 - It's A No From Me

It's A No From Me   The boys are back in the flat this week, and Drewling Samantics regulars will know that Drew and Sam being together in the same room means there’s potential for perhaps even more chat, banter (and beers) than usual!  Today’s episode deals with the tricky business of turning down work, or having to say no to a job (be that before it’s even begun or due to developments once in the swing of things). Fortunately for the our podcasting pair, and the majority of their colleagues, this is a very rare occurrence - in fact given the precarious nature of their work and the scarcity of job offers and contracts, very few performers and creatives will ever be in the position where they need to consider such a decision, however, there may come a time that for various reasons the job that seemed so tempting suddenly becomes less so and the only option is to say “No”.  Treading carefully, the chaps relate back on some of their own personal experiences, and recall others they have heard about, and, whether it be economic reasons (in other words the money is unacceptable or even potentially illegal!) or on more delicate/complicated grounds, the only true solution has been to walk away.  Like every industry, sadly there are a few scoundrels in the entertainment world, and actors can experience the odd occasion where they have to protect themselves or others. So tune in to yet another intriguing Drewling Samantics episode to hear some stories of when things really are too good to be true!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S13E08 - Cruising and Conjuring

Cruising and Conjuring   This season’s guests are a well-travelled lot, and that is equally true with Drewling Samantics’ latest visitor - Paul Burley.  After discovering at a young age that he had a joy and skill for performing, Paul pursued a career that has enabled him to travel and entertain across an impressive variety of locations and disciplines. Quietly ambitious, passionate and driven, he doesn’t show off, and even at times seems mildly surprised to discover the talent he has! But thankfully he had excellent advice and mentors along the way, and took it upon himself to seize every moment as well.  Aside from being endearingly charming and witty, Paul has some great experiences to share from his training, cruise ship performing, and most recently storming the holiday park entertainment world! His inspiring insights and honesty, coupled  with his determination and ability to learn and adapt have certainly helped deal with an ever-changing entertainment industry, and in this episode he also talks about how he’s managed to combine his love for magic with his ongoing quest for expanding his skills.  Time flies when you’re having fun, and that is very evident for Drew and Sam during their enormously entertaining chat with Paul, so tune in now to join in with all the merriment!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics   Instagram.com/WeirdoBurley  RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S13E07 - So... How did it go?

So... How did it go?      It’s straight in in today’s episode, with a subject that is very much a regular topic of consideration for our podcasting pair - Drew and Sam are discussing auditions! A necessary evil some might say, but actors and performers spend a great deal of time trying to get, prepare for, and (with any luck!) nail them! Castings, test-shoots, auditions, all can be a bit of a headache and a trial, but equally sometimes are fun and can be enjoyed. Two main things are for certain however - the business can’t do without them, and performers can’t avoid them!    Whatever form they take, from in-person, workshop, open call, recall, self-tape, or other, every individual has their own methods of preparation and dealing with the almost inevitable nerves, the other auditionees, and the often intimidating panel that are all par for the course when it comes to trying to land a role. And auditions certainly can be a minefield to navigate, so Drew and Sam discuss how they personally try to step carefully (yet enthusiastically!) through the process, and hopefully come out the other side with “the job”.    Yet another massive subject is addressed by our dynamic duo, and not just wanting listeners, viewers and subscribers to enjoy the episode, this is another opportunity where the chaps actively encourage involvement - after all it’s all one big podcast family here at Drewling Samantics!      Social Media  Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics  Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam  Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics    RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music  Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day  Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S13E06 - Multi National, Multi Skilled

Multi National, Multi Skilled   This week the Drewling Samantics boys happened to be recording on a rather significant day, and a little word play hints at just that… but no spoilers here - all is revealed in the episode! And that is far from being the limit of the excitement in today’s show, as the chaps are also joined by yet another superb guest!  Fredrick “Freddie” Brandes has only just returned from a visit to Cannes film festival, but that fortunately didn’t stop him taking time out from his very busy schedule (or away from packing to move house!) to share some experiences, stories, anecdotes, and much more with Drew and Sam. Freddie is a knowledge junkie, always eager and able to learn new skills and explore fresh avenues to further his performance journey. Indeed, he has physically covered more ground than most, and having German and Welsh parentage perhaps helped inspire his travelling to, living in, and studying in numerous nations including Germany, Scotland and England to name but a few.  Starting out initially training in opera, he branched out to musical theatre, but he didn’t stop there and also plies his trade as an actor, musician, composer, conductor, and producer with projects in the pipeline - just a few sills to speak of then!  So if all that has you intrigued, the next step is simple - dive right in and fight out more about this enormously talented chap. Oh, and as if that wasn’t tempting enough there’s even a special treat at the end to experience too! Wow, what an episode!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics   FrederickBrandes.com Instagram.com/Freddie_Brandes  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S13E05 - At the Tap of their Game

At the Tap of their Game   An illness has targeted one half of our podcasting pair, but did that stop this week’s recording? Absolutely not! Drewling Samantics remains resilient, and a mere virus can’t halt the boys on their quest to bring entertaining content to the masses! Inadvertently though, being temporarily resigned to watching daytime TV in bed has helped inspire this episode’s subject matter it would seem. Every cloud, as they say!  Some people are particularly accomplished in specific aspects of their craft beyond all others, dedicating their whole energies to being the very best in that specialised field. And while that is not unique to the entertainment industry (far from it) the performance world calls upon many abilities so being more versed in some over others makes a lot of sense. Dancers and singers in certain disciplines such as opera or ballet, or, as becomes a focal point of today’s show, Irish dancing, become extremely  skilled, and their whole career then reflects that dedication and remarkable talent as they seek to reach perfection.  No matter how gifted a person may be, everyone can think of a couple of things they wish they could be better at, or would have enjoyed pursuing further, and that is equally true for our dynamic duo. But what exactly could those things be? Well you’ll just have to join them now to find out more!   Social Media  Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics  Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam  Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics    RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music  Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day  Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S013E04 - Tween Sensation

Tween Sensation   It could be said that every actor or performer takes some form of risk when working in the industry or has “skin in the game” to use modern parlance. Well, that is certainly true of this week’s guest, and in more ways than one!  Colleen Daley is a truly multi-talented actor and has certainly embodied the aforementioned phrase (no spoilers here though!) Early on her passion for performing took her to drama school, a highly successful time for her, and then she ventured out in to the big wide world of the profession, where she seized the opportunity to hone her skills further.  Colleen has taken part in in straight plays, musicals, TV shows and commercials, but a series of fortunate events led from a theatrical job to a wonderful opportunity in children’s television. She describes how four years of her professional life was spent becoming a voice beloved by thousands of children - not only in the UK but all across the globe including places like France, Spain, Italy, Canada, Singapore, Australia and may more. And it wasn’t just the on TV, live shows and even albums had the pleasure of showcasing Colleen’s talents as well!  Safe to say all that is more than enough to make anyone intrigued, so join, Drew, Sam and Colleen for another fabulous Drewling Samantics episode, where the boys literally get under the skin with behind-the-scenes detail!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  Instagram.com/Colleen_Daley3  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S13E03 - All Work and No Play...

All Work and No Play...   Just when you thought you knew someone, they catch you off guard you with something surprising! Drew and Sam may be pretty confident in their knowledge of each other (it’s to be expected having spent this long working together) but in this week’s show they actually learn new information about one another! Following on from a previous episode that looked into the day to day job-related activities of a performer, today the boys discuss the importance and nature of down-time, and debate whether they are able to, or indeed ever want to, fully switch off and escape from “work”.  A break, a step away, free time, spare time, however you phrase it, it seems it is a rarity that anyone in the entertainment business does truly “get away”. That is not a complaint of course, but it does mean that how free time is spent can be extremely important. Obviously this applies to many professions, but particularly those considered a vocation or a job chosen due to the pleasure taken in doing it, it would seem.  So tune is as our podcasting pair share their hobbies and pastimes, the ways they give themselves a break (should they want to), and just how connected these times still might be to their work. Another revealing outing from the Drewling Samantics chaps is with us, so why not hop on your hobby-horse and join them for the ride!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S13E02 - A Cymbal of Success

A Cymbal of Success   The first guest of Season Thirteen makes a timely entrance and delights Drew and Sam with his wit, knowledge, joy for what he does, and a rather large helping of cheeky irreverence to boot! Robin Payne joins the Drewling Samantics boys this week and having already given the taller half of the podcast pair the immense pleasure of his company whilst on a UK and Ireland tour (as is discussed during the episode), Robin’s presence can now be shared and thoroughly enjoyed by the more senior team member, and of course fans, followers and subscribers of the show as well.  Robin is gently self-deprecating, describing himself as someone who simply likes hitting things! Now, while that may well be true, it in no way does justice to his skill and experience, as he is a hugely experienced and talented musician, playing in pit orchestras and bands in a great number shows and circumstances. He has toured widely with many productions, passes on his knowledge to others via teaching, and is also an experienced session player as well. Since his early career he has had a passion for drumming and says that he is “a drummer and not a percussionist”, a distinction he explains to the chaps.  It will come as no surprise then, that such a long and varied career has left Robin with distinct and well considered opinions and a collection of great stories. Equally then it is logical that it an enormously enjoyable time was had by all during his visit with the Drewling Samantics team, so join the three of them now to share in that experience too!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  Instagram.com/RobinPayne1967  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S13E01 - Unlucky for Some

Unlucky for Some   It’s Easter time and whilst some of Drewling Samantics’ faithful listeners and viewers are on the hunt for Easter Eggs and the Easter Bunny, there is no need to search for the new season of Drewling Samantics - it’s finally here, in all its glory!  Yes the boys are back, despite popular demand (only joking of course!), and are ready to bring us all lots more top quality podcast content. A short break full of filming, production and performing commitments, modelling assignments and theatrical shows didn’t stop the chaps finding time to plan and prepare for this, their thirteenth collection of episodes - and specifically in this case, the first show of this new season. And quite the episode it is, as the lads jump straight into discussing what exactly a “jobbing actor” is - or, perhaps more interestingly, what they do outside of the obvious shows, films and other tangible examples of entertainment work. A performer’s day is always filled with job hunting, admin, practice, and simple day to day chores as they explain, and there are even things that wouldn’t necessarily spring to mind at first, but are just as important and essential.  Fortunately though, however busy Drew and Sam are, they will always find time to put together their weekly podcast and share a drink and some banter - in fact, after this season opener they have another twelve weeks of fresh chat and guests “waiting in the wings”, so don’t miss out - they certainly won’t be hiding anything!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@drewlingsamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.enPing us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

Season Twelve: Best of Drew & Sam

Season Twelve – Best of Drew & Sam   This is it, truly the last Drewling Samantics show of Season Twelve! So what do we do after this finale? There are no more episodes! (Well not until Season Thirteen anyway - but more of that in due course).  The simple answer of course is to enjoy this last outing, especially seeing it’s another highlights show - and what a season it has been! Numerous beers, teas and coffees have been poured and consumed over these past six months (and yes - Season Twelve really has spanned that enormous time frame!) and a few more beverages flowed as they deliberated over choosing their favourite bits. Not an easy task seeing as the boys have covered an impressive amount of territory this season, with a discussion topic list including: producing, AI, films, new writing, understudies, and big surprises to name but a few! All this and they even managed to take a break to go off and work over the Christmas period - insanity! But they have indeed managed to re-listen to and re-watch all this season’s content, and attempted (How successfully? You decide!) to bring all of their most memorable moments together, for this conclusion of Season Twelve.  So, before Drew and Sam take a well deserved short break to prepare for a new season, take a dip into this collection and then why not go back and relive some previous episodes in full, the chaps promise not to keep everyone waiting too long!   Social Media  Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics  Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam  Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics    RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music  Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day  Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    Season Twelve: Best of Guests

Season Twelve – Best of Guests   Another season is coming to an end, and we’ve been lucky enough to experience six more action-packed and content-filled episodes where Drew and Sam welcomed visitors to the podcast. The levels of talent and quality have only been matched by the laughs, banter, fascinating facts and overall brilliance these wonderful guests have brought to the show, and it’s safe to say every single episode has been thoroughly enjoyable.  So how do you go about narrowing such brilliance down to just a select few moments and highlights? An extremely tough question to answer, but somehow our favourite podcasting hosts have managed it, so all that’s left to do is find out what those favourite bits are! Yes it’s time to sit back, get comfortable, and experience some of the wonderful moments featuring Jonathan Carlton, Tiran Aakel, Neil James, Tom Quinn, Joe Potter and Dom Thomson. What more could you possibly ask for?!   Social Media Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics  RSS Feed https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss  Music Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

    S12E13 - Affordable Awardable

Affordable Awardable   It’s the time of awards ceremonies, where new comers and regulars, remakes and rewrites, brilliance and genius are all rewarded for a job well done, and as always there have been some pleasant shocks along with the expectedly predictable results.  Looking specifically at films and their budgets, in today’s episode the boys take a curious peek at how big budget movies and their profits compare to those that, financially speaking, are less well-endowed. The facts can be rather enlightening; and we are invited to join Drew and Sam to share in their surprise at the resulting success of various films, and their astonishment at some of the investments - both big and small! And it’s not only recent films that have either cost a fortune or been produced on a shoe string, a look back at past productions reveals some interesting conclusions too!  The Drewling Samantics chaps end the season of regular episodes with a fact filled chat, but don’t despair, there are still two more visits to Season Twelve with the beloved “Best Of” highlights shows still to come.    Social Media  Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics  Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam  Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics    RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music  Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day  Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

S12E12 - Coming Out of His Shell

Coming Out of His Shell   Regular listeners and viewers of Drewling Samantics will know all about how Drew and Sam found their respective ways into the industry, with their individual paths differing quite significantly, and in this week’s episode they introduce a guest who has taken another, rather uniquely timed, step into acting.  Dom Thomson is a relatively new member of the acting family, but that hasn’t stopped him experiencing several avenues of performance in such a short time: touring theatre, ballet (although not as you may think, as he explains), interactive and immersive shows, new writing - he certainly hasn’t been a slouch! And his “origin story” is perhaps a seemingly familiar one, but with a definite twist. As we know, during the visit of the “Unwelcome Guest” many members of the arts experienced a variety of difficulties and challenges that resulted in taking unexpected action - some took on other jobs (in rare cases leaving the performing world on a permanent basis), some relied on savings, some did lots of remote work, and some even started podcasts! Dom however took almost the opposite change of direction, leaving his regular job, and, after a period of reflection, decided to become an actor! This is never an easy choice, and for Dom too there were certain obstacles, but then an amazing event helped Dom on his way…  No spoilers here, you’ll just have to listen to the charming and erudite Dom Thomson as he shares his stories with Drew and Sam.   Social Media  Facebook.com/DrewlingSamantics  Instagram.com/DrewlingSamantics  Twitter.com/Drew_and_Sam  Youtube.com/@DrewlingSamantics    Instagram.com/DomThomson  RSS Feed  https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1696714.rss   Music  Vlad Gluschenko - Sunny Winter Day  Creative Commons Attribution 3.0  https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en Ping us a message - we love to hear your thoughts!

ABOUT THIS SHOW
