S1. Ep. 45: Understanding Product Positioning (With April Dunford)

from Specified: Building Materials & Construction Growth Podcast · host Tatsuya Nakagawa

April Dunford is the author of Obviously Awesome: How to Nail Product Positioning So Customers Get It, Buy It, Love It. Her expertise is built on 25 years as an executive in a series of 7 successful technology start-ups and 3 global tech giants. This included expanding a business area from launch to over $3 billion in under 2 years. April started out with an engineering degree, and was introduced to marketing by self-professed “dumb luck”. She realized quickly that marketing was where she was meant to be. She spent a lot of time learning everything she needed to know, but realized that nobody seemed to be able to explain in detail the process of product positioning. She then began working on putting together her own methodology and began running workshops and consulting with new companies to teach them her system. April is an active mentor and an accomplished public speaker, having spoken recently at over a dozen conferences focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and marketing. Please reach out if you have any feedback or questions.
