Deadwood used to celebrate public executions as if they were a holiday. Everyone would come out to the town square and have a drink while the kids would run and play, just excited to be kids, I guess. I'm ashamed to say there was laughter and cheering from the entire town. But not anymore. Not since that nasty business with old Voodoo Queen Eska.
