S3:EP08: "Do you make your clients cry?"

I begin every coaching session with two secret beliefs: You are far more powerful than you know. Especially if you've already accomplished things that impress most people. Tears are a release of emotion. And if I can create a safe enough space, my clients will cry when they share things with me they never shared with another living soul.  I begin this coaching session with one of my favorite coaching questions: “What would make this an extraordinary conversation?” Kristen's reply was intellectually engaging but I couldn't feel her. So, I know we need to dive deep... Like all my clients, Kristen is a top performer with a track record of success. She’s a retired television executive who founded a non-profit that has brought clean water to over 100,000 people in developing countries. And as I dive in, Kristen shares things with me that she’s never shared before. In fact, she’s moved to tears. She leaves the conversation with an insight that will make a massive impact in her life and in the lives of her clients. As you listen to the conversation, pay attention to two things: The moments of insight on my client's side.  The moments on my side where I choose when to dive deep.
