S3E10 Controversy around Grain Free Diets and Dilated Cardiomyopathy with Dr. Shari Raheb and Ms. Sydney Banton

from Vet Sessions

This week, we have two special guests on Vet Sessions! Please join Dr. Tiffany Durzi as she interviews Dr. Shari Raheb, a board-certified veterinary cardiologist at the Ontario Veterinary College, and Ms. Sydney Banton, a PhD candidate at the Ontario Agricultural College. Both Dr. Raheb and Ms. Banton provide a lot of resources and information into dilated cardiomyopathy and how grain-free diets became entangled with this disease. Currently, Dr. Raheb and Ms. Banton are in the midst of a clinical trial that looks to study the impact of grain free diets on canine dilated cardiomyopathy. This clinical trial is currently recruiting dogs who have been eating the same grain free diet for the past 6 months and who are not genetically predisposed to dilated cardiomypathy. Candidates must be over the age of 1 year old and must exhibit some form of clinical disease. If you have an ideal candidate, please reach out to [email protected].
