Creatives' Cafe ft. Maya Simone - December '25 In this episode, Scott is joined by co-host Jarrett Moses and first-timer to the podcast, Maya Simone.  The crew talks about the team’s Creatives’ Cafe Open Mic that included Maya as the closing feature. The event was hosted on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, at Bedrock Fishtown in Philadelphia. The episode begins with a fun dive into Maya’s story, including some lesser-known details about her childhood as an equestrian. From there, the conversation shifts to Maya’s connection to Namarah McCall who is a longtime friend and extended family member of Ripe Creatives.  Maya and Scott also chat at length about some other gigs Maya served on earlier in 2025, including a Carson Simpson Farm “Peace Week” night and a morning chapel with The Christian Academy. Towards the thirty minute mark of the episode, the crew talks about Maya’s decision to agree to perform on Creatives’ as a feature and specifically why she picked the December date to do her feature. Shortly afterwards, the crew jumps into the actual night of the event on December 9th. The middle third of the episode gives flowers to a few of the open mic performers, as well as a healthy dose of love towards Christia,n who served as the “one man band” for Maya’s set to close out the night. From there, the conversation moves into Maya’s featured set, breaking down each song she performed and what God was speaking to her throughout the experience. The episode ends talking about the impact of the show, including Maya’s interaction with visual artist Devyn Dais, who is a part of the Ripe community.  Jarrett turns into a Reverend for a few minutes, dropping nuggets about following through on stewarding gift sets. Scott also shares a story about God’s provision for the show after the event wrapped up. We hope you enjoy today’s episode.
