S4E2: Airheads

ARE YOU READY TO RAAAAAAWWWK?! We sure hope so, CineMeheads, because this week we're coming to you LOUD from the late days of the 1990s Los Angeles hair metal scene with this Brendan Fraiser entry: Airheads. This week on The CineMEH Podcast, Josh and Ryan take a meta look at the state of the music industry, with our film as a backdrop for social commentary. We'll discuss whether this movie was at one time meant to be a more serious offering, how the landscape of art and entertainment changes as it becomes increasingly intersected with corporate interests, and how much of an impact the 'death' of radio has had on music. Ever wonder what Ryan did in his 20s before he became a respectable type? Turns out he and Chazz have a lot in common! Airheads leans heavy on the absurdity, but its underlying message about corporatised music and the purity of the artist will be of interest to anyone who's ever wanted to just stick it to the man and do things their own way. Airheads stars Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, Adam Sandler, Joe Mantegna, and Chris Farley. The CineMEH Podcast is a Slyjack Media, LLC production Like what you hear?
