S5 Ep. 9 - Pedro Lopez - The Monster of the Andes

from Blue Murder Club

Good day fellow true crime community and welcome to this week's episode where we pack up and travel to South America where we cover the case of Pedro Lopez, the infamous Monster of the Andes.Señor Lopez is believed to have killed over 300 young girls in a reign of terror covering Columbia, Peru and Ecuador in the 1970's. His crimes were undetected and un-investigated by a corrupt and indifferent police force, until he was finally captured in 1980 after a flash flood revealed the gruesome sight of four of his young victims and a vigilant mother saw him attempting to abduct her own child and the mob captured him. This self confessed animal would have the luck of the devil and within only 14 years of incarceration he was released for good behaviour and was never seen again.Join Carrie and Lauren as we cover his early life as a street urchin, his career as a car thief and eventual progression to mass murder.
