The Vietnamese 39 Lorry Deaths
This episode is brought to you by Carrie. This is the case of the poor souls who set out on a voyage from the continent to the UK for a better life back in October 2019 and didn't make it alive. In fact their transport became their tomb. This was a case that shocked and horrified the country, and brought to our attention the evil of the people smugglers and the callous nature of their wicked trade. How they prey on the hopes and dreams of innocent people with little regard for health or safety, and how easily people can suffocate to death on the treacherous journey.Support the show! For one time support Buy Me a Coffee:Blue Murder ClubLink to all things Blue Murder Club including all of the Socials - We look forward to hearing what you think about usbluemurderclub | Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok | LinktreeEvents:London 2026 | The Ultimate True Crime Event | CrimeCon UK - Get a tasty discount using our code BLUE and Crimecon even do a payment plan to spread the cost! Pavlovs Dogs and Louise Ogborn
This episode is brought to you lovely people by Carrie. It is kind of a mind control episode as it covers the famous Pavlovian experiment - fascinating stuff, about the scientist who measured the triggered responses of his dogs to various stimulus. This is followed by the case of the young McDonald's employee, Louise Ogborn, who at the age of 18 suffered a 4 hour ordeal at the hands of an anonymous 'police officer Scott' who instructed, by phone the adults around her to carry out the most unimaginable crimes. For almost a year he stalked and terrorised the area, especially the young female students of the nearby colleges. S6 Ep. 10 Rachel Manning - Miscarriage of Justice
Welcome to this week's episode, the case of the murder of Rachel Manning and the miscarriage of justice that followed. On a cold December evening in the year 2000 a young couple, Rachel and Barri had been to Barri's mum's 40th birthday party and then went out clubbing in town, after. In traditional style the evening ended with a kebab and a punch up before they went their separate ways home. Within an hour Barri received a phone call from Rachel, asking him for a lift as she was lost and was having difficulty getting a cab. Little did Barri know that this was the last time he would ever hear Rachel's voice, as shortly after she was abducted and murdered in a random attack, her body being found two days later. This was the beginning of a living nightmare for Barri and his friend Keith, who very shortly after would find themselves prime suspects for the brutal crime.Horrifyingly the pair were convicted and sent to prison for a crime they didn't commit on very little evidence. In despair Keith wrote to everyone he could think of for help, including the BBC program, Rough Justice. The team took on the case and after many years they finally managed to get the conviction overturned and the men walked free as innocent men. But if they hadn't killed Rachel then who had? Listen this week as Loz and Caz reveal the astonishing details behind this miscarriage of justice case. With credit to the brilliant documentary: Wrongly Accused : The Case of Barri WhiteWritten and Presented by Carol Whiffen & Lauren StruttPlease kindly give the show a rating or review on your chosen podcast platform as it really helps the podcast to reach new ears!Contact us at [email protected]://linktr.ee/bluemurderclubSupport BMC on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/BluemurderclubFollow BMC on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/bluemurderclubFollow BMC on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/BlueMClubFollow BMC on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/BluemurderClubPhotography by Jessica GeorgeArtwork by Stu Whiffen Hosted on Acast. S6 Ep. 9 - John Cooper - The Bullseye Killer
Back in the 1980's Sunday night telly was dominated by the darts gameshow, Bullseye where contestants would play darts and answer questions in an attempt to win cash prizes and the jackpot prize of a speedboat or a car. In May 1989 a contestant from Pembrokeshire, Wales called John Cooper appeared, talking about his hobby of scuba diving around the gorgeous coastline. Sporting a truly incredible mullet, John and his team mate walked away empty handed that day, returning to their normal lives having experienced their 15 minutes of fame. The idyllic area of Pembrokeshire hid the fact that there had been a number of shocking and brutal crimes over the years including murder, robbery and rape. As the years went by a cold case team resurrected the unsolved cases and in 2006 began Operation Ottowa, determined to find the person responsible for two double murders. Thanks to advances in forensic technology and fastidious police work the net began to close around John Cooper. However the final piece of the jigsaw came when producers of Bullseye came forward with footage of Cooper and how he would have looked the day of the murders according to an eyewitness. Join your girls this week for a brilliant case that grew in infamy when it was made into the mini series The Pembrokeshire Murders.Credit to: The Crimewatch Years Special Edition The Bullseye MurdererWritten and Presented by Carol Whiffen & Lauren StruttPlease kindly give the show a rating or review on your chosen podcast platform as it really helps the podcast to reach new ears!Contact us at [email protected]://linktr.ee/bluemurderclubSupport BMC on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/BluemurderclubFollow BMC on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/bluemurderclubFollow BMC on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/BlueMClubFollow BMC on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/BluemurderClubPhotography by Jessica GeorgeArtwork by Stu Whiffen Hosted on Acast. NEW UPLOAD SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE 2PM This week's episode is the case of one of the biggest and public manhunts in modern British history, the hunt for Raoul Moat. When Raoul Moat was released from Durham prison in July 2010 little did the authorities know what hell would be unleashed for the local community. For Moat had a plan, a terrible plan to exact revenge on his ex-girlfriend, her new partner and the Northumbria police force. Two days after his release he stalked and shot Samantha, the mother of his daughter, almost killing her and killing Samantha's partner, Chris Brown. He then went on to declare war on the police and shot traffic officer, PC David Rathband in the face.Moat fled to the picturesque town of Rothbury, 30 miles north of Newcastle, nestled in the Northumberland national park. What followed then was nothing short of real-time updates as the worlds media descended on the small town, providing minute-by-minute news coverage of the biggest manhunt in recent British history. After some days of being on the run, Moat was finally cornered and as the eyes of the world turned to watch the conclusion, there could only ever be one fatal outcome...Written and Presented by Carol Whiffen & Lauren StruttPlease kindly give the show a rating or review on your chosen podcast platform as it really helps the podcast to reach new ears!Contact us at [email protected]://linktr.ee/bluemurderclubSupport BMC on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/BluemurderclubFollow BMC on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/bluemurderclubFollow BMC on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/BlueMClubFollow BMC on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/BluemurderClubPhotography by Jessica GeorgeArtwork by Stu Whiffen Hosted on Acast. S6 Ep. 7 - Gordon Cummins - The Blackout Ripper
Hello and welcome to episode 7 of Bloody Britain and this week please allow Caz and Loz to take you back to Blitz torn London. The year is 1942 and Hitler is doing his best to annihilate Great Britain, with a relentless bombing campaign, known as 'The Blitz'. Londoners had to keep lighting to a minimum and everyone was ordered to keep the City of London in total darkness, so as to not create an obvious target for the Luftwaffe. Of course, total darkness is a criminals dream come true and domestic crime soared during this period. And for one week in February that year, the iconic streets of London's West End were stalked by a predator known as the Blackout Ripper. No woman was safe and in a very short amount of time the culprit, a fighter pilot called Gordon Cummins, would take the lives of four women and attack two more. We hope you enjoy this week's case L & C 💙💙Written and Presented by Carol Whiffen & Lauren StruttPlease kindly give the show a rating or review on your chosen podcast platform as it really helps the podcast to reach new ears!Contact us at [email protected]://linktr.ee/bluemurderclubSupport BMC on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/BluemurderclubFollow BMC on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/bluemurderclubFollow BMC on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/BlueMClubFollow BMC on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/BluemurderClubPhotography by Jessica GeorgeArtwork by Stu Whiffen Hosted on Acast. S6 Ep. 6 - The White House Farm Murders
This week's episode is all about the case of the murders of the Bamber family at their home, White House Farm. It was the 1980's the time of the hedonistic Yuppy, where wealth was flashed and 'greed was good'. The adoptive son of the respectable Neville and June Bamber, Jeremy, was surely the quintessential city boy, rich, good looking, popular and charismatic. His sister, Sheila was a beautiful model, and mother of twin boys and was also part of the London party scene. Life appeared good for the Bamber family, at least on the surface, however underneath it all there lied mental illness, conflict and jealousy. One fateful August evening Jeremy received a frantic phone call from his father, begging for help as Sheila had gone mad with a shotgun at the farmhouse. When the police finally made their way inside it was a bloodbath, every single member of the family had been shot dead, including Sheila's twin sons and then it appeared that in a final act of desperation, Sheila had turned the gun on herself. The police quickly came to the conclusion of a murder - suicide, the tragic result of her psychological difficulties. Not long after the funeral, suspicions surrounding Jeremy grew until eventually he would be charged and convicted of the murders at the farmhouse. He remains in jail until this day and still protests his innocence, claiming to be a victim of injustice.Caz and Loz investigate this most complex case and ask, what do you think happened at White House Farm?Written and Presented by Carol Whiffen & Lauren StruttPlease kindly give the show a rating or review on your chosen podcast platform as it really helps the podcast to reach new ears!Credit to:The fab documentary The Bambers: Murder at the FarmContact us at [email protected]://linktr.ee/bluemurderclubSupport BMC on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/BluemurderclubFollow BMC on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/bluemurderclubFollow BMC on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/BlueMClubFollow BMC on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/BluemurderClubPhotography by Jessica GeorgeArtwork by Stu Whiffen Hosted on Acast. S6 Ep. 5 - The Beast of Birkenshaw - Peter Manuel
Arguably, Peter Manuel was Scotland's first widely known serial killer and one of the last men to be hung for his crimes.Join us this week as Lozza and Cazza cover this case from the 1950's. It is a most heinous story of crime, robbery, murder.... and bizarrely, tinned fruit. Peter Manuel killed multiple young women and families and got away with it for far too long with help from his father who again and again alibied him. In the age old debate of nature vs nurture we think this is absolutely nature and that he was born bad.Written and Presented by Carol Whiffen & Lauren StruttPlease kindly give the show a rating or review on your chosen podcast platform as it really helps the podcast to reach new ears!Credit to:Dawn Young @scottishmurders podcast for the recommendationContact us at [email protected]://linktr.ee/bluemurderclubSupport BMC on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/BluemurderclubFollow BMC on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/bluemurderclubFollow BMC on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/BlueMClubFollow BMC on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/BluemurderClubPhotography by Jessica GeorgeArtwork by Stu Whiffen Hosted on Acast. S5 Ep. 8 - Kim Jong-un - The Man, The Myth, The Killer
Hey hey you lovely bunch of true crime enthusiasts and welcome to this week's episode where we travel back to Asia, North Korea to be precise and bring you the ongoing dynasty of the Kim family. Kim Jong-un, the current dictator of North Korea is infamous globally for his eccentric ways, as well as his nuclear arms programme.Caz and Loz cover how it is to live in the most isolated and secretive country in the world. Spoiler it isn't much fun and you constantly run the risk of committing a crime, for example, having the wrong haircut and being sent to a forced labour camp or even executed. We also cover how the Kim dynasty came to be in place, how the country was torn in two at the end of the second world war, tearing families apart, and how grandfather Kim was portrayed as the saviour of the North Korean people and the self appointed, Supreme Leader.Since coming to power at the age of 28, Kim Jong-un has barely been out of the news. Although there is never enough solid proof, him and his regime have been hugely successful in espionage, cyber crime, human trafficking, forgery, you name it, and the money keeps pouring in to the Kim family coffers. More than enough for North Korea to fund a nuclear bomb programme that has ultimately made the "little rocket man" unstoppable. If you are enjoying the Pod, please leave us a review wherever you listen - L&CWritten and Presented by Lauren Strutt and Carol WhiffenContact us at [email protected]://linktr.ee/bluemurderclubSupport BMC on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/BluemurderclubFollow BMC on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/bluemurderclubFollow BMC on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/BlueMClubFollow BMC on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/BluemurderClubPhotography by Jessica GeorgeArtwork by Stu WhiffenWritten and Presented by Lauren Strutt and Carol WhiffenContact us at [email protected] by Jessica GeorgeArtwork by Stu Whiffen Hosted on Acast.
