Sad boy syndrome: How to break free from mental slavery

from That Talk · host Nate Tanzman

Today I want to talk a little bit about mental health because it’s become and epidemic in society. Some people spend their whole life trying to avoid pain and or escape the pain they’re experiencing. This often leads down distrusting paths. Drinking, drugs, sexual addiction. We’ve bought into an idea that we’re not supposed to experience any kind of pain. So we have a question lingering throughout our existence. “How do we escape” And guess what, someone has a product for your escape. Isn’t that interesting…The question isn’t how can escape the pain (you can’t) the question is. “What can I do with my life that will make the pain I go though worth it” What if your purpose was beyond worth your pain that you didn’t even blink when adversity came your way?Breaking generational bondages, painful. Becoming financially free, painful. Going through trails in a relationship and staying, can be painful. BUT all these things are worth it.
