Myles is a happy, assertive, loving and playful 2 ½ year old from Broome whose congenital heart disease (CHD) journey began prenatally when his mum, Mandela, was 29 weeks pregnant with her first child. Myles was born in April 2020 with Pulmonary Atresia with intact ventricular septum. Pulmonary Atresia is a defect of the pulmonary valve. Mandela did a lot of research on CHD before Myles was born to help prepare her for the journey ahead. Myles had his first surgery when he was just one day old and then had three further surgeries at one week old, 4-months-old and 15-months-old. The surgeries were difficult for Myles’s family as nothing went smoothly.
