The popular image of Jesus is often one of gentleness and endless patience, but Scripture provides a fuller picture. Jesus was no stranger to using harsh language, sarcasm, and what would be considered rudeness by our modern standards. Yet, He always spoke with purpose, never for personal offense but to expose hypocrisy, confront falsehood, and challenge those whose priorities were misplaced. In several instances, Jesus acted in ways that both the people of His time and today’s society would consider rude.
