Sárdi Máriát 15 évesen deportálták a Bergen-belseni koncentrációs táborba, ahol embertelen körülmények között tartották. Édesanyja a karjai között hunyt el, a nagymamája nem sokkal utána. Egyiküket sem tudta megsiratni, mert “a lágerben kiapadnak a könnyek”.
