From Victim to Visionary: How I Turned My Pain into a Haven for Others.  My guest this week is Ms. Sarita Drake, Executive Director of the nonprofit organization, “House of Grace.” “I do not at all understand the mystery of grace – only that it meets us where we are but does not leave us where it found us.” ~ A. Lamott Over the last 3 seasons of the Motivate with Coach Camp podcast, we have covered an incredible variety of notable topics.  One of my true joys of doing this podcast is knowing that we are able to give a louder voice to some very important issues and highlight some amazing organizations, and this week we are able to do both. My guest is Ms. Sarita Drake and she is the Executive Director of the nonprofit, House of Grace.  This is a nonprofit organization that provides free shelter to victims and children that are trying to escape domestic violence situations.  Statistics show that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men will experience some form of domestic violence in their lifetime. In this episode we dive into how Ms. Sarita’s personal story of domestic violence that started in her childhood followed her into her adult life.  Ms. Sarita explains that when she finally realized at the age of 50 she had to make a change, her change was going to involve helping others  find a way out.
