Satiated Episode 123: Why Regulating Your Nervous System and Co-regulating With Nature is The Crucial Piece To Decrease Your Emotional Eating Patterns

from Satiated Podcast · host Stephanie Mara Fox

Happy Satiated Saturday! Has anyone ever told you to just stop your emotional eating and binge eating? Like that's the easiest thing to do is to just stop. I get so frustrated when I hear these stories. I know that the #1 thing you would want to stop in your life are these patterns. We have to shift the dialogue that these food behaviors are not about willpower, they are not a sign of weakness, you're not doing anything wrong. These food patterns are often the only way your body knows how to regulate and feel safe. To change patterns of emotional eating and binge eating means that nervous system regulation will need to occur BEFORE your food behaviors can transform. In this week’s episode, I talk with Aisha Tambo, Personal Trainer for the Spirit and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner about why regulating your nervous system is so important and a plateful of different tips and trick on how to regulate your nervous system. I LOVEDDDD this conversation and if you're someone who has been curious about how to feel more grounded and less stressed in your life this is a must listen. You can also read the transcript to this week’s episode here: https://www.stephaniemara.com/blog/regulating-your-nervous-system-and-co-regulating-with-natureOnce you're done listening to this episode, take some time to journal about what people, environments, nature, pets, places support you in feeling regulated, calm, and connected. With Compassion and Empathy, Stephanie Mara FoxKeep in touch with Aisha here:Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/bridgingthedreamtime/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bridgingthedreamtime/Website: http://somatictherapytoronto.ca/about-aisha.phpContact: [email protected] in touch with Stephanie Mara here:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_stephaniemara/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stephaniemarafoxWebsite: https://www.stephaniemara.com/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephmara/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@stephaniemarafoxContact: [email protected] thanks to Bendsound for the intro music in this episode. www.bensound.comSupport the showKeep in touch with Stephanie Mara:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_stephaniemara/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stephaniemarafoxWebsite: https://www.stephaniemara.com/https://www.somaticeating.com/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephmara/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@stephaniemarafoxContact: [email protected] the show:Become a supporter: https://www.buzzsprout.com/809987/supportAll affiliate links: https://www.stephaniemara.com/resourcesReceive 15% off my fave protein powder with code STEPHANIEMARA at checkout here: https://www.equipfoods.com/STEPHANIEMARAUse my Amazon Affiliate link when shopping on Amazon: https://amzn.to/448IyPlSpecial thanks to Bendsound for the music in this episode. www.bensou...
