Satiated Saturdays Episode 54: How Your Focus on Food and Body is Distracting You

from Satiated Podcast · host Stephanie Mara Fox

Happy Satiated Saturday!I couldn't stop crying this morning. I didn't expect it. Once I heard the news that this United States will no longer be bombarded with disrespectful behavior from our own president, I cried. I cried for those voices who have not been heard for the past 4 years. I cried for those who have felt unsafe and unseen in this country. I cried for feeling renewed hope. And this is just one small tiny step toward the world we imagine we want to live in; one where everyone feels safe to be themselves, one where everyone is protected, one where we feel united and welcomed. We can potentially experience the last 4 years as something that needed to happen. We needed the past 4 years to wake us up. And now, we cannot fall back to sleep. Hard work is ahead of us to make some real systemic change. This is the same thing that can occur when we realize something is not working in our relationship with our food and body. When we slowly cultivate awareness that the way we're interacting with our food and body does not feel loving, nourishing, and grounding that is just the first step toward change. Then, comes the hard work of exploring why that relationship got cultivated to begin with, how has it been serving and supporting us, and exploring what kind of relationship we want to have with our food and body now. In this week’s episode, we're going to explore how your focus on food and body is distracting you from something else, and how to start to discover what that might be. You can also read the transcript to this week’s episode here. To be able to do the work we need to do in this world it starts within us. If you realize that to be able to show up more fully in your world something needs to shift and change in your relationship with food and body, reach out today.
