Satiated Saturdays Episode 79: Ask These 5 Questions To Break The Binge-Restrict Cycle

from Satiated Podcast · host Stephanie Mara Fox

Happy Satiated Saturday!Have you ever been in the cycle of restricting your food and then finding yourself in a full on binge? There are so many reasons why this cycle can occur and a myriad of emotions that can arise when in this cycle. The diet culture fuels the binge-restrict cycle. When it comes to diets, usually it begins with some kind of restriction that is externally forced upon your body. It doesn’t matter what your body tells you, as long as you follow the rules. Restriction might start with cutting out certain food groups without the internal information from your body telling you that food doesn’t work for you. When the body doesn’t get what it needs nutritionally and emotionally, at some point, your body is going to take over for you. It needs more food than you’re maybe giving it. It needs more macro and micronutrients than it's getting. It needs more attention and care. And then, the binge happens. At that point, it doesn’t matter what food you’re eating anymore. Your body has taken over and is urging you to eat to get what it needs. In this week’s episode, I discuss 5 effective Somatic Eating™ questions to begin asking yourself to learn what this cycle is here to teach you and break free from it.You can also read the transcript to this week’s episode here. Slowing down and asking these questions with practice and time can facilitate showing up for yourself in new ways. Remember, you're never ever doing anything wrong. Healing from being in this cycle will not look linear. One day you may experiment with one of these questions and the next day you may want to feel the safety of the cycle. Just keep taking small bite sized steps forward and trust you're where you're meant to be each step of the way. With Compassion and Empathy, Stephanie Mara FoxSpecial thanks to Bendsound for the intro music in this episode. www.bensound.comSupport the showKeep in touch with Stephanie Mara:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_stephaniemara/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stephaniemarafoxWebsite: https://www.stephaniemara.com/https://www.somaticeating.com/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephmara/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@stephaniemarafoxContact: [email protected] the show:Become a supporter: https://www.buzzsprout.com/809987/supportAll affiliate links: https://www.stephaniemara.com/resourcesReceive 15% off my fave protein powder with code STEPHANIEMARA at checkout here: https://www.equipfoods.com/STEPHANIEMARAUse my Amazon Affiliate link when shopping on Amazon: https://amzn.to/448IyPlSpecial thanks to Bendsound for the music in this episode. www.bensou...
