Satie: los límites de la partitura

Al igual que las Gimnopedias, piezas con las que adquirió gran reputación, la Gnosiana fue un género prácticamente inventado por Erik Satie. No se sabe a ciencia cierta donde se inspiró este compositor, de lo que si estamos seguros es que hizo algo extraordinariamente nuevo con la música. Publicadas en septiembre de 1896, en las Gnosianas se obvian ciertas normas de escritura musical predominantes hasta ese momento, tratamiento que dicho compositor extiende a la armonía y a el ritmo.
