In Genesis 19, God sent two angels to Sodom and Gomorrah to save Lot and his family, from the judgement God was about to execute on that city.  When the two angels arrived at the city, they experienced firsthand the wickedness of the people.  Lot and his family had to flee the city to save themselves from that wicked and corrupt generation.  However, Lot's wife disobeyed the angels' instructions and looked back.  She failed to save herself from that corrupt generation.
