Podcaster, caregiver, and advocate Savina Makalena is sharing what she’s learned as a family caregiver.  Savina is the host of the Caring Caregiver podcast and a personal caregiver for her mom. Savy is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Gimme A Break, a non-profit organization whose mission is to care for caregivers by giving them an emotional and physical break as well as resources for their continued well-being. As a lifetime caregiver she has recognized the need to support all caregivers worldwide and has made this her life’s mission. Savy is currently the caregiver for her mom who is on hospice care. As the daughter of a hospice patient, Savy is an advocate and part of her mom’s healthcare team. She’ll tell you communicating is the key to getting the best care. She’s telling her caregiving story with honesty, grit, and transparency.   Check out the Caring Caregiver podcast at caringcaregivershow.com.
