He shares his profound connection to his southern roots & Gullah Geechee cultural identity and the affirming experience of attending HBCU Hampton University, which led him to Yale Divinity School & being the 1st African American graduate in the American Studies PhD program at UNC, Chapel Hill. He speaks passionately of his journey; generously of his learnings. “The blessing of life is meeting people who have different experiences than you.” (17:45).
