Heidi's a long time friend of ours, a friend of the pod, a wife and mother to 2 young boys, and has been writing scripts and screen plays with her friend and writing partner, Stella Ruggiero, for over a decade. They've produced award winning scripts and currently have a film in development. We'll be discussing how Heidi got into screen writing and the behind scenes on what goes into getting a film made. Recently, they've leaned into Stella's journalism background and began investigating the disappearance of a woman who vanished from their hometown of Meadville, PA back in 2022. Debra Daniel, a 67 year old woman battling emphysema and living in low income housing, was last seen on August 13th getting into the car of a "known man "and was never heard from again. Very few details have ever been released about Debbie's case and Debbie's not the kind of victim that gets a lot of media attention. Heidi and Stella having been working hard to shine a well deserved light on Debbie's story.
