Let's get it!Season 2 Episode 22 features Sophie- from Buckinghamshire, England, who travels full time working as a freelance travel writer. Sophie grew up going abroad with her parents but she truly caught the travel bug when she went on a charity trip to Tanzania at 17. It was Sophie's first time with a backpack, first time in Africa and first time away for a long period without my family. After school, Sophie took a gap year and travelled South America solo. Then backpacked on and off for 8 years - in between university, trying different jobs and a pandemic. A highlight was the Galapagos, a low point was having her passport stolen… But the worst moments make the best stories (a motto Sophie stands by firmly when she's having a terrible day in the middle of nowhere). In 2023, Sophie decided she wanted a new challenge. So Sophie left the UK and embarked on a solo trip through Africa, somewhere she hadn't visited for 10 years. Sophie ended up staying in Egypt longer than expected, did her Dive Master and found a home in a little town called Dahab. So this is now where Sophie is based - working a bit, hanging out with the nemos and continuing to explore the continent from here for the rest of the year!
