Season 2 Episode 8 (A.I. and the Evolution of the Insurance Industry)

The topic to be discussed in Episode 8 of the podcast is themed, “A.I. and the Evolution of the Insurance Industry”. Quite often, many view insurance as something we pay for and don't get any real financial benefit from until something bad occurs. However, insurance permeates so many aspects of our daily lives and is responsible for many advancements in society. This is why in this special episode; we address the public on a recent development that is radicalizing the insurance sector – artificial intelligence. Artificial Intelligence (AI) includes one of the several disruptive technologies that are revolutionizing the insurance industry at an incredible pace. Accordingly, everyone needs to be equipped with an understanding of AI’s role in the development of the industry. Stakeholders such as insurance companies, the insured, and even the Insurance Commission which is the industry regulator, will be better prepared to embrace and enjoy the benefits of AI whilst effectively bracing themselves for the possible legal challenges that may accompany its employment in the sector.
